I looked around here a bit and found a few answers, but wanted more input from current corporate/charter guys. What is the "average amount" or the amount your being given for per diem. Either day rate or hourly?

We're 91 and If we're hungry, we go eat. We keep it sensible and don't go to Ruth's Chris for every meal (once in a while's o.k.). If we're flying through lunch or dinner, we order a crew meal.

This per-diem garbage is for the birds.

My flight department flies both Part 91 and 135. Each pilot is issued a credit card. Hotels and rental cars are taken care of by the company. We are allowed to spend $60 on a day's meals.

Part 91, company credit card. We eat well but treat it like it is our own, it is unrestricted.

Also part 91/135. We are allowed $10/$15/$25 per meal for time of day without receipts required. If we go over the standard, just get a receipt and submit it with no questions asked.

The company I used to work for done $41 per day but anything less then 4 hours is $20.50. Also our per deim is taxed if it is a day flight with no over night .

Unfortunatley they don't trust the pilots enough to give them credit cards but yet they trust you with a 7 million dollar aircraft.

Part 91. We get 120 DOmestic and 220 International... Cant complain.

and yes that is in dollars

Holy sheep $hit that is alot of jack for per-diem. How did they come up with those dollar amounts?

I'm with a Part 91/135 company and we have a company card. All hotels, rental cars, meals, and away from base expenses are put on that.

We can choose to use our own cards if we want miles, hotel points, blah blah blah. But in the end it is just easier slapping down the company card.

Part 91 company card for all expenses. No questions asked as long as receipts are turned in. Boss gets card points we get hotel, fuel and stuff. Just stay sensible.

Good day rate if you do not have to pick up the hotel and rent car out of it. If you do have to pay hotel and such it is on the very weak side.
