This may be a dumb question but where can I get some different avatar's than the standard one's from this site????

CrewDawg,

Not a dumb question. I have some great pictures but haven't yet figured out a way to convert them. I am sure we are not alone.

you can go to your personal settings and change your avatar...you can up load a picture from you computer...kind of hard to explain just play arround with it and see how you do...

there's specs, images have to be less than 20k, and no bigger than i think 150x150 pixels, other than that, as long as its not a nice set of knockers or something, astra, pm me if you want to send me your pics, i have a couple good image editing progrms (adobe's photoshop and photoelements) i can fix your pics up

You can use any basic graphic editing program to scale a picture down to 150x150 pixels. A bit depth of 72 DPI (dots per inch) is plenty for avatar use. This will create a file of about 10 - 20 Kb.

Upload the pic to your edit options screen in this forum and you're set.

... or you can just right click on somebody else's avatar and save it to your hard drive. That's how I got the nifty one to the left.

Thanks Guys,

I will play with the pictures....another challenge to overcome! LOL

I was just having this same problem, but somehow figured it out. Now I just want to see how it came out.

Cheers

If you do a google search, there is a free program that will let you shrink jpegs to a size small enough to use as an avatar. Sorry, I can't remember the site where you can find this.
