A couple of quick ones;
1. Do you get paid during training?
2. Why is there so little gouge about Avantair? Is it frowned on, for some obscure reason? If not, can you please fill me in a little bit about the interview process? Thanks for any help. What a cool plane.
I don't think gouge is frowned upon. I've seen it before, just look some more. I did a phone interview where I was asked a few questions about what I've done and what I know about Avantair and the Piaggio. I'd bone up for that a bit and try to at least know more for the face to face interview.
The face to face lasted about 6 hours (they don't pay for your travel but will reimburse $250 if they hire you (i think)). There were only a few technical questions. Most of the six hours was spent in chit chat and they (the DO and the HR rep) gave a presentation on the company. We then went over to the hangar to sit in the plane and I was offered the job right there.
Training is 3 weeks of ground (2 in PBI and 1 in PIE) where they pay perdiem and the hotel. Base pay starts once you start flight training. Flight training was in the plane but now the sim is online and it will be in that.
Just chatted with some new hires in class at PIE, pay has changed to PerDiem until checkride. Works out to around $900 for the three weeks.
Lots of growth right now, lots of hiring, come on down!
