Just curious if there is anyone on here that is in the Aug 14th class. I guess Im just bored....

Also, from previous posts, Ive seen that the training is about a month. Should I prepare to be away from home for a whole month or will there be breaks??

Thanks guys, cant wait to start!!

Great job! I've heard great things about the Avanti and the newer Avanti II with the Pro Line 21 set up will make it easier/more enjoyable to fly. I think Avantair has a great niche and rumors about the possible addition of bigger aircraft at some point down the line make the job even more appealing.

Airlinepilotcentral.com lists the following pilot bases:

EWR, BNA, CLE, CVG, SFO, BOS, JFK, LGA, CDW, FLL, MIA, JAX, PIE, TPA, LAS, RNO, STL, DEN, BWI, DFW, ATL, LAX, PHX and PPA.

That's a pretty good cross section of the US. My understanding is that the Florida bases are for the most part full and they are looking for more pilots willing to live in other bases like DFW, STL and LAX.

My training was 20 days exactly, but my self and flying partner got pretty lucky with the fact that we had a training airplane available. But I have heard that sometimes they have sent guys home for a week or two b/c there are no airplanes available. I dont think you're going to run into that problem right now. Good luck in training, you'll enjoy it, the instructors were really cool. You'll enjoy it.

Peace,

Bender

Crap. I live in MCO. Did any florida guys get hired and now commute to dfw/stl/lax?

ya I did. I live in orl and Im based in PHX for now. Florida is said to be closed for awhile. but dont let that stop you. if you get an interview go its well worth it.
