Would the name then be changed to Legaciair?

Actually, that would be a great upgrade for the Avanti pilots out there who already fly a great aircraft. I love those Avantis - 2nd best looking aircraft on the ramp to the Citation X in my opinion.

Wow, that's a big step up from an Avanti in terms of aircraft selection/choice for owners - you would think there would be an intermediate jet in there as well (maybe a CJ3 or XLS if there were any delivery positions available). The difference in share price between 1/8 of an Avanti and 1/8 of a Legacy is pretty large (if you consider cross-selling opportunities).

I fly the E145 and enjoy it (the aircraft - not the regional job). I am sure you guys have plenty of former regional pilots who have ERJ time.

Nice addition to the company, too bad Avantair won't let their pilots fly them, hired outside the company last time with the Premiers. Better luck next time.

Again, it sounds like just a rumor at this point. Can anyone confirm this or is this just another "I'll belive it when I see it" comment? It certainly would be a nice addition if it happens - certainly the price point is much better than some of the competing aircraft out there in its class...

On a recent conference call with the pilots it was announced that there will be an announcement in the next few weeks regarding fleet growth. I don't know if that means more Piaggios, or getting a new fleet type. They said they couldn't disclose more info at the time for business reasons.

The C.P. let slip to a newhire class that there was a big announcement coming, and that he was going to school for a new a/c type. It was also confirmed that there was a big multi day meeting w/ Embraer which included the Exec. VP from Embraer. Cannot comfirm yet if the $ amount I heard is correct, but suffice it to say if it is accurate, Avantair will be the biggest non 121 operator of Embraer products. I think a bulk of them will be the phenom 300s though. My guess is the company is trying to seti it up to be the launch customer for the 300.

Isn't Embraer in the early stages of designing a VLJ?

I would guess that this would be a better option for Avantair than a Legacy, from the cross-selling and training points of view.

When is the Phenom expected to fly first? How soon could these aircraft actually be on the line if ordered by Avantair?
