Jeez mini, that has been many moons ago for me but, as I recall, you pushed in on the OBS selector (or maybe you pulled, don't recall) and, as long as you had a good freq dialed in on the Nav radio, it would center you up w/ a TO indication. In other words, it turns knobs so you don't have toooooooooo! IMHO, useless.

Dang, Clutch you beat me to it. I screwed up was was going to give Mini a homework assignment - get out the C-172RG's POH, go to the suppliment section and read up on it then return and report.

Yeah, sorry...normally I would have, but I hadn't even heard of it before...

I'd seen ARC on several GS indicators, but didn't know WTF it was for. Figured it had to do with DME Arcs er somethin...had no clue

Thanks guyz

No kiddin? Wow!!

So...will it do the same thing for a FROM? like a poor-mans RMI?

Uh, I defer to 'Sled's post. Honestly, I don't recall but it seems like it might. I remember running across one of those units that would stick in the auto mode. You could really screw yourself, or your students, if you weren't careful because it would constantly keep centering so, in effect, you were homing instead of tracking. Not that I've ever done that!! ;)

Cool...thanks for the info...I'll see if I can find more and report with results..

Thanks guyz!

no no...not taken like that...

I normally will try like hell to find something for fear of being a dumb@ss for asking :D

Speaking of which...I'll be d@mned...

Read through the GS supplement, but not the NAV/COM...

Wouldn't you know it..right there on the last page of NAV/COM in tiny tiny print is ARC

Push and it centers TO Pull and it centers FROM.

Can't wait to try the II ride now!
