A Colgan friend of mine mentioned that other than current scheduled deliveries, there will be no new Q400 deliveries until 2009. In other words, you cannot convert options for a least a year. Is this true?

How will this affect Colgan, Lynx and Horizon? Is Horizon getting new Q400s?

I think we at QX are getting more Q4's starting late summer. They are all confirmed orders though(15), replacing the mighty Q2.

15 firm commitments on the books: 3 deliveries in 2008 and 12 in 2009. Growth, Horizon-style (ASMs)!

Oh, and of course the E190s to replace the 700s...NOT!

Thats basically correct.. Bombardier is way lagged on the manufacturing and delivery side... earliest Lynx will see their 10 options is March 09.

As I understand it, Lynx has CHOSEN to not exercise their options until then. Can anyone confirm this?

Bombardier is behind, but not THAT behind. Colgan's options are also scheduled for earlier than that, IF they exercise them (which is looking very likely).

The way I understand it.. had Lynx exercised the options in October which was the first point they could have they would have been delivered in August 08. However Lynx won the right to push back the option decision to Feb 08. If they choose to take the options at that point the first an an airframe can be delivered is March 09. So while you are correct that Lynx pushed back the initial decision... the delivery limits on the current option delivery dates are due to Bombardiers backup.

That sounds reasonable, cycle times + long lead items for an airliner don't get much shorter than one year, and I doubt BBD is going to send white tails down a production line.
