I took my ATP written in February of 2005. My times exceed the mins for the ATP, but I don't think I'm gonna be given the chance to take the ride before it expires and I really don't wanna go pay for it. My question is, does an expired written work in 135 on-demand charter like it does in 121? I have completed my company's PIC program. Any advice would be welcomed.

You completed a Part 135 PIC and didn't apply for your ATP? Next proficiency check get the ATP. It is the exact same checkride with a few extra oral questions. You might have to invite a fed along, but the company check airman is likely to need a check with the fed too at some point.

When I took my PIC check, I was just barely short of the ATP mins. My next PC will be due in April, but our check airman can't give me an ATP. I guess if I sweet talk him into working it out with our POI to go along, maybe I can get my ATP then. The main problem is the ATP certificate is not required to do the flying I am doing now, so my company isn't too excited to do any bending to make it happen, financially or otherwise.

AHA, answers from the 8400

Just found the answer to my question. The following is quoted from the 8400 as found on www.faa.gov :

"FYI: Employment by a FAR Part 135 on-demand
operator does not qualify an applicant for an extension."

Since my company is an on-demand operator, I guess I'll just have to re-take the written when I will be able to take the practical.
