I'm considering the ACPP program in Riverside, CA. I'm a private pilot, and I find it hard training at my local FBO due to lack of structure and also I'm married with a baby on the way. My wife and I were talking about the 90day program at ATP and it would be nice to get them done before the newborn arrives. She's in her first trimester.
I love flying and would love to make a career of it and my wife is supportive. So has anyone had expierence at ATP Riverside? I know it's what you make of it with studying. Hows the instruction? equipment? airport? I hope to visit it in June. I would also appreciate anyones thoughts on Renting apartment near the airport in Riverside so I can take my wife along? I understand that they give you a dual occupancy room in the Career pilot program. But if theres any breaks in trainging I wouldn't mind being with my wife in my own apartment.

I did my commercial multi with them and have no complaints... prices are fair and you know what your getting into before you go but like any other school you will get out what you put in... I don't know your exact situation but remember that when you get done with training you still have a long road ahead to get a job that supports the three of you but everyones situation is a little different... good luck

Thanks for your insight, we have enough saved up to cover the cost (thanks to my wife). I plan on working pipe line with my comm ticket locally at a fbo to get to cargo or sky west qualifications. It just seems like i'm missing out on a lot of the hiring boom working on my ticket at a slow pace so it would be nice to get focused and get them out of the way.

the best looking instructors, for real, are at ATP Riverside.
Best looking huh? Thats cool to hear. I'm hoping to hear from someone that did the Airline career program the 90 day fast track at Riverside and what the flaws of the program are and what should I do to get prepared before.

Sham,

I was a student at ATP KRAL back in late 05 early 06 and all in all it was a good experience. The general atmosphere of the place was relaxed and the instructors were good and willing to go the extra mile to help me when needed (I'm not sure what they will be like now since they rotate out so often). The facilities where in good shape and they had two FTDs a fresca 142 and a AST 300 which you could get in and practice anytime the schedule was open. Also Kral is one of their maint bases so you get to fly both the 1979 and the 2000 model seminoles. As far as advice for attending All ATP's I can only suggest that you complete as many of your written exams as possible before you show up. Good luck and safe flying.

Thanks for the info Newmeat. I've been getting some positive feedback, I plan on cramming weeks before by studing the Sporty's Instrument videos and practicing the written exam to get head start. I plan to make a visit down there this month sometime. I heard I should take as much time as I can in the Sim to get a feel for it since it's the same ones you might expierence in Airline Interviews.
