For all you freight dogs that have taken the ATP written, which text/software do you recommend? I was thinking of going the Gleim route as always, but am open to better ideas/suggestions. Also, does anyone know of any on-line practice test sites that actually have ATP questions? Any help is apreciated

If you want the quick way, just pay $295 and goto AllATPs and you'll get it done in about 6 hours...otherwise you can do it the cheap way like I did and just study out of the Gleim book($4 on Ebay or $26.95 Retail), but that took me about 2-3 months worth of studying.

When I converted from an Oz ATPL I used both Gleim & ASA books + a computer based practice exam at the flying school. I liked using both because they each had a slightly different presentation, helping to reinforce the knowledge. Took about a week of part time study + a day or two at the school.

All ATPs prep is just a way of spending $295 and forcing you to sit down and study. I'm not saying it doesn't help, but I would be willing to bet if you bought a GLEIM/ASA/fill in the blank computer test course and you sat down and studied for a day straight, you would do just as well. just my .02

Actually, they have narrowed the 1500+ questions down to about 500 of the most likely to appear on the test. I got the Gleim software, worked on it for a couple weeks on layovers, then did the AllATPs course - 99%.

Good luck.
