Atlantic Aviation's parent company bought all of the Mercury FBO chains. They are are all changing.
On a related note, two months ago Mercury bought JetSouth at BHM. Mercury will only be running the show at BHM until this summer when Atlantic takes control.
They must have given Bob Kent a HUGE chunk of cash to sell off Jet South, they had charter, avionics as well as regular FBO stuff. Bye bye cheap gas in BHM.
You've got that right. The day after the sale, fuel was jacked up to retail, GPU fees, handling fees, and overnight fees. All of which used to be free. The charter-management side of the house (ASG) is a separate company and remains in operation.
How do you know BK? I work for the big man himself at ASG.
I am super excited about Mercury going away. In terms of prices paid and services received, Mercury is one of the worst FBO’s in the country. Have you ever been to JAN? Although I have yet to see an Atlantic Aviation that compares to Wilson Air Center, I think Atlantic will be a breath of fresh air to regular customers of Mercury.
I wish they would just buy everybody, it's the best rewards program out there...I love Atlantic bucks!
Honestly, after spending yet another miserable afternoon at Mllion Air SLC (still one of the all time worst fbo's for service I've ever been to, and getting worse) Atlantic and Jet remain the only 2 fbo chains that I know will, with few exceptions (Atlantic in PSP kinda sucks), get things right. Hooray for Atlantic-keep buying!
