WCG won the Iraq Air Traffic Control contract. A team will be headed to
Ft. Benning Saturday for orientation, then we deploy to Iraq on 28 July.
This is a three-year contract.

We take over Baghdad Center on 15 August and also have two approach

controls and five towers around the country. We will be setting up an ATC

Training Academy at Baghdad International Airport on 1 August and have

100 Iraqi ATC Developmentals to train and certify.

We need controllers and a program manager for the tower and one for the

overall program. If you know anyone that would want to join our team,

could you please let me know? We pay $170k a year for the controllers

and $190k a year for the program managers. This is tax free. We provide

two weeks leave at the end of every four months with round trip air fare.

Also a $5k sign on bonus after four months and $10k completion bonus

after one year.

Wow, nice pay.

I don't know. A controller friend of mine sent me the e-mail and thought I would pass it on. My guess they are looking for experienced controllers..

Yeah i actually posted that question before i read the site. It appears they want qualified people. Kinda sucks, i would have jumped on that being a young single guy.

Save up for a few years....would be nice for the first few years at a regional.

Yeah...that's what a lot of victims of kidnapping and beheadings thought too. Is 170 - 190K worth it. No way.

Of course i see your point, however most of the kidnappings where military personel/journalist....same with the beheadings. Call me what you want but id take my chances.

is this good 2152 time, probably not if I have to hit the contract job. Wouldn't do it anyways. Off to ORD in 5 weeks.
