Took them a month to do this. Why over 2 years and counting for pilots?

I wish they would just implement this one piece and not mess with the rest. The law of unintended consequences is going to kill us. We're going to end up being away from home more for less pay if all of the proposed rules go thru.

Because it dosent cost the airlines a cent thats why. The FAA won't ever do anything that costs the airlines money unless they are forced to. What I mean by this is that the chances of a horrific crash these days is pretty minute, it would cost the airlines money to have to hire more people as a result of rule changes. Its cheaper for the airlines to risk a massive lawsuit then it is to actually be safe.

Want proof? Look at all the unheeded recommendations by the NTSB over the years that COULD have prevented accidents like BUF.

Anyone who thinks the airlines and the FAA care about safety is a fool.

Or see the Ford Pinto...

Maybe the authorities need to start CRIMIMALLY charging the execs with negligent homicide after accidents like BUF!!

They sure wouldn't resist rest rule and other safety related changes. Even if they were aquitted, it'd still send a strong message and change the entire lawsuit settlement/cost of business equation completely.

Emmm.. this is where trip rigs fall into place.. but you commuter guys don't know what that is of course. You just care about your hourly pay numbers right?
