Old news....and it ain't gonna get better anytime soon..
It's gonna get worse...a lot worse... especially if the traffic levels hit 2006 & 2007 levels...

The bs bucket has filled up for most senior controllers..they could care less about what happens to the system once they retire...I don't blame them one bit...

The ffa is one of the worst employers to work for..

Most new controllers being certified have no business being near an atc facility....yet management certifies them and they're on their own...clueless f#@$tards...

The ffa's 'train to succeed' program has been a complete joke....much like bush's 'no child left behind' program...

No accountability when it comes to ffa management...weak stick controllers quickly bid on supervisor jobs as soon as they're eligible to do so....more pay for no work and no accountability...who'd turn that down???

Within the next 5 years most (70%) of the experienced controllers will be either forced out (age 56 mra) or they'll leave as soon as they're eligible to retire because they're tired of the constant bs..

They're working guys overtime for years in some facilities. And, they're still hiring at the same old rate. The .gov is beyond f'ed up. It's becoming a criminal enterprise.

My daughter's in a CTI program and she's got a low tolerance for incompetence. Ha, ha, joke's on her!

6 day work weeks at most of the busier facilities (especially the level 12 centers and tracons)...

Mandatory overtime every week, which translates to 4 days off a month...that sh!t gets old REAL fast...

Overtime has been ffa managements answer to the staffing issue amongst the controller workforce for a while now and it ain't going away anytime soon..costs them less in the short run...

The ffa....future felons of America...

cti trainees will do ok....it's the retarded ots hires who think a C130 is a cessna...no joke...bunch of retards who should've never been hired....they're bottom feeders..a lot like regional pilots...bringing down the profession....

Perhaps they should do with the contollers what they did with flight service stations. When the FAA ran fss, they had 58 service centers and 2400+ employees, Honeywell has been doing it since 2005 with 6 (2 as backups) service centers and 650 employees.

Have you called 1800wxbrief and spoken to an fss specialist in the last 5 years???

You're on hold for over an hour...You end up with lost flight plans...someone unfamiliar with your local area (one guy didn't know what state Bangor was in)...the list is endless....lockmart has been doing a sh!t job...

Yeah let's consolidate everything...that will solve all the issues....right....that will magically stop airplanes from having ra's....

It's incompetence, ignorance, and stupidity within the 'new' generation of controllers that has created all this recent buzz about near midairs....

Had an FAA controller address our recurrent class a few years back. He pretty much predicted this whole mess. He said as soon as Bush came into office he made moves to cut controller pay by 50% (for new entrants) and mess with the old guys at the same time. The result is a fragmented group of new candidates who could care less about the job as a career. Said it takes 4+ yrs to train a new recruit and that at the end of that 4 yrs most leave for greener pastures in software, energy, whatever. So the FAA is always 10 steps behind plugging the hole of attrition.

He told us to expect things to get bad, very bad. He did commend the newer generation of controllers for being really good with newer tech... but also said that was a hinderance as well since they couldn't handle things when the tech failed, which it does often.

Of course this was just his take but he was very candid with us. Started his presentation by telling us he had 20+ yrs in so there was nothing the gov't could do to fire him or take away his pension... ie, didn't care whether what he said was politically correct or not.

Is it just me our is BOS one of the worst when it comes to ground handling errors...Those tools still can't figure out we need clearance to cross the runways one at a time or even at all etc. There also kinda jerks. IMHO

I heard a Houston center controller the other day, ask an aircraft that checked in on the wrong frequency "where you at". The aircraft said say again, he repeated "where you at". It took a few more exchanges on a busy frequency, before he said return to your last frequency. I could believe that &hit.

Don't know who you are calling or talking to but I have had zero issues in terms of wait time, lost flight plans, or other issues with Lockheed and use them fairly recently in several different parts of the US.

You know, I know a controller or two has saved my bacon from mistakes I have made. Perhaps you should all show a little tolerance because it may be you next time asking for forgiveness. I always cringe when i hear a pilot berating on some controller and I just know that in the back of their minds they are thinking "next time I am gonna fry some pilot, just like you are doing to me"

I don't think "where you at" is in the controller hand book. Nonstandard phraseology is not acceptable. This goes for pilots too...
