Latest Communication....next thing we will begin requiring L10 types.
TO: All Crewmembers
FROM: Mike Gerdes, Regional Chief Pilot
DATE: October 14, 2002
SUBJECT: Application Fee
We have been receiving a huge volume of applications in the Chief Pilots Office. While we appreciate the interest, it has been a burden to manage these applications.
In order to control cost and insure a candidate is truly interested in ATA, we are initiating a $25.00 application fee. The candidate will pay this fee at the time the completed application is returned for review. The purpose of the fee is to cover our processing costs.
While this change has no effect our your recommending pilots for employment, we wanted you to be aware of this change so you can communicate it to those you recommend.
This fee will become effective November 1, 2002.
Also, as a reminder, to recommend a pilot for a position, you must submit a typed letter of recommendation with the candidates resume. This will guarantee an application will be sent. After that,
the candidate will have to be competitive with all other applicants.
We have been interviewing primarily those candidates recommended by our line pilots. Please keep in mind that literally hundreds of you have recommended pilots and were are only interviewing and hiring a few.
Please continue to recommend as it does make a difference. We appreciate your inputs to the process.
