Our union has not even been approached. This is just a rumor started by someone playing the stock.

I don't see this happening at all, people I know at NAA have never even heard this.

I have never heard of any merger/buyout that was a happy, love fest.

Actually, all of us have heard this rumor. Most of us doubt it will happen. Most of us hope it wont happen.

Wouldn't the ATSB have to approve an expenditure of money or any further debt?

Therefore, it would appear just another rumor.

The list would be negotiated or mediated, depending on several things. I would have to think ATA pilots would have more clout if this came to pass but nobody is ever completely happy with a merger.

Yes sir!!

I talked with some ata folks and they are not thrilled at all with that idea...plus **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** it i'm still waiting for a class..hopefully!

Prolly gonna hear something next week.

Who's 767 are they looking at??

So if JBLUE decided to buy US Airways (hypothetical) the only fair way would be DOH? That would basically be stapling every jblue pilot to the bottom of the list. There are a lot more factors than date of hire involved in a merger and they are all listed in the official alpa merger policy. Things like career expectations, windfalls, etc. have to be considered.
