I see that they have updated their flight decks. Have they done this to all 8 aircraft? How many are ex Air Canada with the hydraulic panel up front? Their was also a rumor that the 8's were going to Kalitta. I figure in Astar is putting in the money they will be around a while. Just curious as the 8 was one of my favorite a/c.

I'm not on that A/C. So with that disclaimer in mind:0, to my knowledge the -8's aren't going anywhere soon. Same for the 727. Now the Bus is a different story. We keep hearing that in '09 they will start to disappear. Then again the rumors are conflicting.
We have 5 ex AirCanada -8's, 801DH thru 805DH.
As for the panels, the only mods I believe are RVSM and a scrapping of the iron lung INS's for Honeywell FMS's. ABXA had a mod on their -8-60's series for flat panels (nav display only I think) which is what you might be thinking of. All of their -8's but for a couple have been parked.

I most likely have this all balled up so I'm hoping that an AStar -8 type will jump in here and bail me out.

All the ABX -8's have gone the way of the Dodo. They had EADI's and EHSI's in them along with one or two GPSs.
