i'm in aspen frequently and have found the molly gibson to be reasonable, also the inn at aspen has good rates. a little on the steeper side is sky hotel, by far my favorite, but a bit more.

one thing to remember, i find the girls at the abo concierge desk to be absolutely useless in finding cheap digs. it seems they get a commision and stear you to a small list of hotels.
also there are two property management companiesin aspen we use occassionally but i forget their names at the moment. good luck...

I second the Inn at Aspen.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Do these places give airline rates? If so what do you think is an average rate for this time of year? I can't find anything for under $200 per night. I really didn't want to spend this much if possible. Just need a floor to crash on for a couple nights. Not really interested in something fancy this trip.

The Hearthstone House is great. Price includes cooked to order breakfast & wine/cheese in the afternoon. 16 rooms and great people. Reasonable rates in downtown Aspen.

The Inn at Aspen, several airline crews stay there including AirWisky. It is literaly at the base of Buttermilk. You walk out the back door to the lift. It is also on the Free Bus line for the other mountains. Airline rate is around 100 bucks (I think).
