where does it talk about when we need to have a hotel on a long break? And is it scheduled or actual time?
also anyone have details on the grievance about getting one if overnight is cx in atl?

Greetings..Why dont you post this on the ALPA site for a response. They would be the best ones to ask

Because its more fun to read all the responses here....

But just to cut the number of pages down....

1. SkyWest "SCABS" would get bigger hotels if they would join the union...

2. What has ALPA done for MESA?

3. MESA SUCKS

4. Did you remember to pack your IPOD and hair gel?

5. Regionals are highering pilots with too few of hours...

What did I miss

We got an email about an overnight cx in atl..if I remember, anything less than 11 hours in ATL requires a hotel.
6 hours in domicile and 5 hours out of domicile.
I believe it is actual time from the present.
you cannot lookback and say we have waited at the airport for 2 hours and still have 4.5 hours left on your sit.

Just for some info on that past grievance. Alpa won the grievance. I received a check for it a couple of months ago. It only took about 3 years to get it :) .

Section 5 - Traveling Expenses, Part B - Lodging, Part 1 - Line Operations, Paragraph A:

when he is scheduled or rescheduled for a five (5) or more hour periodbetween flights and/or duty periods away from domicile, and a six (6) or morehour period on duty between flights and/or duty periods at domicile. Forpurposes of this paragraph, the period(s) of time between flights and/or dutyperiods is determined prospectively from the time of the scheduling orrescheduling.

It will be much easier when we all recieve a paper copy of the new contract. A PDF version is available online though.

Paragraph B of the same section describes when the company will provide you with a hotel room in domicile for an overnight.
b. When a pilot is originally scheduled for lodging out-of-domicile, but, due to

circumstances beyond the Company’s control (e.g., adverse weather or aircraft maintenance), that rest period occurs in his domicile, the Company will provide single-occupancy lodging if the pilot’s rest period is scheduled or rescheduled to be twelve (12) hours or less. If the unscheduled in-domicile rest period is scheduled or rescheduled for more than twelve (12) hours, the Company has no obligation to provide the pilot with lodging.

I can think of 3 more.....

6. ASA JAN lines suck

7. ASA FEB lines suck

8. ASA MAR lines suck

Because I did it from my phone while sitting on a broken airplane in the middle of nowhere.

Well, I'll take the bait.

If you had time to get on the internet and start a new thread, couldn't you have called your rep? You pay for them, you should use them.

Just a thought.

I called PD (our schedueling guy) and he didn't get back to me until it was too late, but the above quotes of the contract answered it. thanks
