Latest memo on FLiCA from BL talks about his disappointment that SKW got the latest growth aircraft. After some propaganda that they got them because of their "lower cost" on the 70 (which may or may not be true!?!??!), he went on to say that Delta has made it clear that they want "larger regional aircraft, such as the 705." BL is apparently very eager to get those planes on property, as he should be. But if you read between the lines, we'll have to "lower our operating costs" to get them.

Please, please, ASA pilots, don't buy this B/S. If SkyWest wants to kill their investment, then so be it. Don't give in to this tactic- it is insulting to say the least! What do pilots have to do with securing aircraft deliveries??? WHAT if anything??? Because we make a few more bucks an hour??? Maybe Brian Lebreque and company should take that Ivory Tower and move it to an abandoned strip mall in College Park. That will save the money.

Don't let the used car salesman sell you a piece of junk contract for promise of growth. Don't do it!!!!

If you read the latest memo form Grinstien on DLNET through myASA, you will see he mentions that two class service in certain on the RJ's for Delta connection.

With that said, I think we all know that both companies know where the aircraft are going already.

We shall not buy into the scare tatics that all current airline executives seem to think is the only avenue toward getting labor groups to do what the company wants.

We stood strong on the RFP 2 years ago, and we should do so again.

WE FLY AIRPLANES, thats it. And we shall be paid a fair wage.

Yeah! DON'T take pay cuts or freezes to get new aircraft. Comair did (fools) and look what happened to them.

DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No -705s flying for Delta, since negotiations have not taken place. Last I heard, Dalpa said NO.(nothing over 70 seats) But, if they want to fly planes with more than 70 seats, ie 79 seats, we'll fly them for Delta, and bring back some furloughed pilots. Got any problems with that?

Bye Bye--General Lee

The CRJ-705 is a 74-75 seat aircraft. I believe all one must do is remove one row of seats to be in compliance.

General Lee

I don't post nearly as often as you, but I do read. Why would DAL take on a new aircraft type? It is very easy for the DCI companys to start flying the same aircraft. The CRJ 200, CRJ 700, CRJ 705, and CRJ 900, I believe are all the same type. If not, they are very similar. You think you are educated enough in the airline industry, why should they go to DAL? It would be very easy to put them on a DCI operating certificate.

Yeah, I do actually. I also have a problem with you trying to provoke an argument with me....that's B.S. Why, all of a sudden, are you guys wanting to fly RJ's??? Way back when, you guys thought RJs were the anti-christ of airplanes. Now, all of a sudden, the airplanes are good enough for you since we ASA guys apparently aren't special enough to fly such equipment. Other than that, I doubt seriously that you guys will get them. You know as well I do that Delta wants those things flown as cheap as possible, which is probably why we probably won't even get them either. But I keep forgetting, you know all.

General,

This is an honest question..Would Delta pilots really want to fly these airplanes? Could/would Delta pilots be willing to take the much lower pay wage to fly and make them profitable to operate?

I do. Tell ya' what, how 'bout Comair gets 'em and calls back their guys. I don't have to ask if you'd have a problem with that. I'd rather Comiar get them than you. No matter, you guys WILL NOT get them. It's sad that you think there is even a chance mainline is gonna get those planes. I'm an optimist but, you? holyshit! I've gotta give you credit for holding onto your delusions so tight. You're the man...

Yeah, $72.00 per hour is too much. Delta is thinking more like $65.00. Throw in our scheduling department, sht1tty contract, lack of: ACARS, IRU's, Satcom, jetways, good F/A's, support from the dispatchers or MX, CP's or otherwise; late bags, late departures, crappy cabin services, disgusting coffee, peanut oil and god knows what else covering the back of every seat, and generally pissed off coworkers (team members).

General, you still interested?

Everybody knows SkyWest is going to get the growth. Jerry built it from ground up. Do you think he would turn his back on an airline that made him all that money? SkyWest is his baby. ASA was just an investment to him. If you built a custom house and bought one for a rental, witch one are you going to care about the most?

You care about whichever one is gonna add to your bank account. You don't invest in something you don't think is gonna increase in value.

Yup, you're probably right. That's why I was saying to GENERAL LEE earlier that even WE probably will not get them either. Good Anaolgy.

I believe SkyWest has MADE his bank account. People invested in UAL, didn't they?

I understand GL's concern for the furloughs and I don't disagree with his desire to get any new a/c on the property, I just don't think he looks at the whole picture sometimes. I can't see anything smaller than 90 seats going to mainline. The total cost for a new a/c type is too prohibitive, plus DAL is to only operate 4 a/c types if I'm not mistaken.
Maybe there will be an agreement of getting the furloughs into the right seat of any new a/c until their number comes up to be recalled, but I just don't see a 70-90 seat a/c at mainline.
Hopefully the whole industry will come around and there will be quick recalls, and positive attitudes from employees!
Cheers

Why buy a restricted Aircraft (CRJ705) when the 900, which is the same acft is there. Even Jazz turned its back on their order of the 705. I think Jerry is smarter than that.
