OK, today I pull up FLICA and see that it's once again time for the employee survey. Last years survey was huge and very detailed. I filled it out with a lot of care and consideration.....I never heard one thing about what was done with the surveys.

The last few days have seen a lot of bad press for ASA, with glaring customer service probs., shoddy performance, no real improvement in the past year.

Very bad press in local and national newspapers, many surveys, no improvement...does management still not know what's wrong with this airline???....Yeah, I know "CREW DELAY."

I'm curious what other ASA folks listed on your surveys.

I think I'll hold off on filling mine out until after I've sat on the ramp with a full boat for 40+ minutes watching 3 different tugs die while trying to push an RJ off our gate. Then, after we wait another 10 minutes for the rampers to pull our carry-ons, I think I'll be in the right frame of mind to honestly assess our ATL operation.

Yes, I have the Vision!

Maybe if the crews dutied in and hour and a half before the first departure, that would fix everything.

Metro:

Hey, what the he!!, let's make it an even 2 hours early!

Actually, I did a trip flying out of Dallas for three days with no legs to Atlanta except for the freedom leg. The whole trip went like clockwork with minimal delays, attitude, or stress. We worked hard to make some premium, and the only time we lost it was--you guessed it--the last leg to Atlanta waiting to be parked.

If you get out of Atlanta, stress and frustration really take a nose dive. I have NO desire to live in Dallas, but the trips are cool.

I have to say that beyond general observations, this public forum is not the arena to be discussing our specific problems within the company. If you have something specific to ask, do it in our internal ALPA forums would be my recommendation.

Thanks Sabre. My thoughts exactly. We get enough bashing from the AJC and USA Today. No need to do their work for them.

Sabre:

I understand your concern, but what are you afraid of? With all of the publicity EVERYONE knows about our shortcomings. I'm just curious if anyone knows where these survey go, and what is done with them.

I wouldn't call it bashing, more like accurate reporting.

Its time that the problems in ATL get fixed or we should just shut down the whole operation and fire everybody.

Anybody see the article on Airtran in the AJC Sunday paper ????

I don't think Delta will be pushing these guys around anymore.

There is a good reason that that this is not listed on the ALPA board, it is becuase that can be traced easier to the specific individual,

Ditto.

I have no more patience for Skip and his merry band of as- kissers. These guys are being paid extremely well for a job they are not getting done.

Fix it or leave !

rjcap:

What was the article? Were the DAL pilots flatly refusing to succomb to the company BS?

Yeah, I agree.....FIX THE COMPANY. People are tired of excuses: weather, ramp space, etc. etc., LEADERSHIP......If Comair comes into Atlanta and can make things work (with their people), what will that say about our management.

I think performance and efficiency are kind of an alien concept here...really. We haven't had to be on time, or provide good customer service. Our passengers were largely a captive group who have HAD to fly us to get where they are going.

Comair has (I think) traditionally had great service and performance. Now that we (in Atlanta) are dragging them down, along with bad press, it has finally put the spot light on us.

This focus is nothing but GOOD, if it get's people to do their jobs and the airline to improve. It's a shame really, ASA has tremendous potential.

The tide seems to be turning. Ramp/gate service appears to reflect the change which BL spoke of in the recent article. I've been getting unsolicited lav dumps, window cleanings, quick parking, etc. for the last several trips. Lets hope it's a trend and not a fluke.
