News just brought that a flight to MKE from ATL had to "evacuate on the runway" in ATL due to smoke in the cockpit.

FLowboard show 4399 with a 3 hour delay due to "A/C DAMAGE ACTS OF NATURE-LIGHTNING". Skies were awfully clear today......

I remember when we used to have to call our times out on the radio and they would want us to give them a delay code. No matter what code you gave them they would put a crew delay on the flight.. So what we would do would be to call in the more bazzar delays like... inadvertnent slide deployment.. it was fruitless, but rediculous

It went down like this....Single engine taxi with APU running. Shut the APU down after both engines were started. Bleeds switched to the engines. After that, smoke in the cockpit and cabin. Bail out!

I'm sure this will be a hot topic on the local news.

Although the media doesn't know anything so the details will be hazy.

I thought perhaps this was a story on the long-standing but quiet practice of free stogies for ATR crews...

The Atlantic Southeast Airlines Flight 4399 ran into trouble just about 2 p.m. as it prepared for takeoff on a taxiway, according to Herschel Grangent, an airport spokesman.

Maybe there lies the problem. If you try to takeoff on a taxiway you might just see some smoke.

still a complete dumbass I see.....

Anyone have any additional DEETS?
