I noticed that we have 26 F/o RES slots that did not get filled for NOV.

HMMM don't want to get the poolies to excited but also we have 20 more F/o's moving over to the CRJ7 in FEB and most of those people are coming off of the CRJ2 so that would make us almost 46 f/o's short on the CRJ2....hmmm well maybe they are just going to shift flying around.

Don't worry, we'll just have planned cancellations like we have the past 3 months. We can afford it with all that profit that Scott Hall told us we aren't actually making. Or at least we can afford it once you accept the fact that he doesn't want you to have a pay raise.

In recurrent this past week, Dan Roberston said that there will be a new-hire class next month and likely in December too. 37 people have quit so far this month. How much more writing on the wall does mamangement need?

Actually those unfilled slots were caused by those displaced FOs. Look at the line award that came out today. Those FOs had the Nov. lines taken away from them....
After comfortably holding a relief line for months, I'm back on reserve! Whoo hooo!

New hire class Nov 6.

701EV

I should time out in the middle of December. Hmm 1000 hours of flying. Ya, I would say we need more fo's

Regardless of what date the class starts on, at least a dozen can expect to go to LAX. Average take home pay is $1000/ per month. Average rent in LAX is $1300. Enjoy! And with LOA 24, new hires do not get to bid on their first assignment.

It was truely irresponsible of the company to shut down SLC and open LAX. Their self-centered egos are going to fail this experiment by Delta to open up a new market. The fact remains that up until 3 days prior to the LAX base announcement, SLC was to remain open. What happened was upper managements new idea so that they "didn't have to put out a memo" contradicting their prior plan. If you doubt me, ask any CP that you trust. Now you have a base were nobody except the CA's can afford to live and they are requiring people to live there by making it a dayline only domicile. WTF? Come March, ASA will have twice as many flights out of SLC than when it was a domicile. Add that to the 30-40 rooms a night at the SLC hotel. And this is more operational efficient? Bryan, Charlie, Scott, Jerry, please tell me what business school you went to so I can make sure my kids never go there!

ASA PUPPY,
I am former Salt Lake also. I agree with you 100%. I have had multiple talks with Scott Hall and he was in my Recurrent ground school last week. I think you're right on the big picture, as they just don't get it.
I heard that Grinstien was going to leave Delta when they get out of bankrupcy. Hmm.
I also had a Delta Capt on my jump seat the other day. He said something interesting, as United was trying to take Delta with a Hostile Takeover. hmm
No merger between Detla. Talk to any Delta guy, they think it's coming.

Very true. They did not figure all these pilots jumping ship with the closing of SLC and now are in a scramble to fill the open slots.

Also, LAX 2nd phase of the expansion is moved up 60 days. I doubt that there will be a crew lounge or ops area ready for you guys Dec 1st.

There was a station manager named Jason in ATL that was over the ramp. He was very short on people and thought he could work it out in a short time. The uppers found out and now have shipped him to LAX.

We have a plan and it is great. Trust me. If you would just settle a contract with our terms it will all be ok. You will see.

History repeats itself... same thing happened after the closure of DFW that ultimately cost Drew Bedson his job.

Talked to an ASA safety person the other night. She said that they were training a lot of people for international flights. She said she was told that we were going to have a lot of growth to South America. Makes sence, because the borader is wide open.

Is the sky falling at good ole Acey? We have a new domicile of LAX that in your own words is due to expand earlier than expected which is good for business yet you complain that it costs too much to live there. How about this, ask a mesa guy how they afford to live and fly in HNL. If you read the memo the day lines are only temporary. As the flying expands the mix of lines will grow. As far as the closing of SLC, if you ask any 70 driver that was out there they saw the writing on the wall from day one. It made no sense to have a base for us out there when that is the home for SKW...sad but true. If we do expand flying in March, and that is a big IF, then great but highly doubtful. The international flying out of ATL will pick up as the SKW CR9 will come through ATL then to Mexico. Once our contract is done hopefully we can get a few CR9s and do this flying ourself.

How "comfortable" you must have been if a displacement of about 20 pilots put you back on reserve. Get a clue..

Are you talking about an ASA or an ALPA safety person?

Not being a knowitall but what I refering to was yes it will be great for business if/when Lax expands and that it will be doubtfull that SLC flying will expand.
