I have been hearing a lot of " CHATTER " recently.

here is what I have heard:

From ASA 700 instructor and line mechanics: "ASA will be taking many of Sky West's EMB 120's and SKy west will continue to take ASA RJ orders."

From Jerry Atkin... "ASA is getting booted out of SLC, no new bases for ASA.. everyone will be crammed into ATL.. Concessions are a must".

and

SkyWest/ASA will be bidding on the Express Jet flying that is being WHORED out.

I heard you guys were going to get some old bandits back and start flying night freight intra Alabama. Oh wait, that is what I am applying for after DL.......(79%N1 can be my SIC if he pays for his training)

Bye Bye--General Lee

Good one...

Where do these guys come up with this stuff??

I was thinking that very thought myself. What makes the post obvious BS is the part about transferring E-120's to ASA. It's no secret that the E-120's don't have a bright future. Eventually they will probably be replaced with something else, perhaps a Q-400 or similar. New passenger weights have put a limit on their utility. To transfer those aircraft to ASA would incur a tremendous amount of training costs in flight operatins and MX. It's unlikely those costs could ever be recovered before the aircraft are phased out.

Although SKYW management has not specifically referred to the ExpressJet flying they have always said they are looking for additional opportunities with other carriers so it's safe to assume they'd probably bid on the flying just like many other airlines will.

Yeah, along with every other regional. So what? I hope it stays at Express Jet, personally.

Cool! Glad I moved to BHM now! When ASA goes outa business, I'm there pullin' gear for The General. Now, how cool would that be?

Good, and my walk around policy is the 50/50 rule. I will do the walk arounds 50% of the time, when it is over 50 degrees F. And, I will buy the third and fifth beers. Sounds fun!

As would most people that have a soul.

I agree. I've already heard an uppermanagement state that Skywest wants to diversify ASA's operation. I can only surmise what that means.

UUUMMMHHHH what ASA RJ orders WE DON"T have any orders idiot!!!

LEts buy ASA and then drive it in the ground...well if you want we can--we can put our feet right thru every CRT if you want , and their goes your profit and your future raises.,.....back to the mobo days....

An airplane losing utility because people are getting fatter. I don't know if that says more about the airplane or our society.

Oh man! Me and the General flying together. That would be some month! What the heck, I'm in.

Who comes up with this $heiot

I highly doubt that CAL wants Sky West flying for them. They were already removed from CAL's flying out of IAH last year (TP a/c only). Anybody know why SW no longer flies for CAL? Not Bashing SW at all, just wondering why C

CAL wanted a turboprop with more capacity than the EMB had to offer. SKYW doesn't operate any other turboprops other than the E-120. CAL elected to go with Colgan and the SAAB 340's. SKYW had a successful relationship with CAL prior to 97 as well. CAL and SKYW reportedly still have a good relationship and you can expect SKYW to be offered the chance to bid on future flying.

How about a resolution saying whereas we are asked to take concessions to bid on other airline's flying and whereas the pointy end of our boots fit the southbound sphincter of "Billable" Hiers when he faces northward, we resolve to place such boot in such opening with sufficient force to express our unwillingness to accept "concessions for growth."

That was great.

...I heard the ATRs will get a HUD mod. and go out to SFO and SEA and be CAT IIIA. This will occur when the 1st SKWY 120 get its ASA paint.

Nice one, but I heard there's a new Turbo-prop coming out, the Metro VI.
Its a twin-hull ala F-82B that holds 38 pax, 1 captain and 3 FO's.

I hear they're gonna get $30k a piece from the Delta Connection Academy for the 2nd and 3rd FO's to fly 250 hours.

Honestly.
