If I go over 75 on credits but have blocked less than 75, do I get minimum day credits for the days I haven't flown?

No. It's an "either / or" situation.

The contract states that it's the greater of:
1.) All applicable credits (minimum day, duty rig, block or better, etc.)

OR

2.) If you physically fly more than 75 hours of block, then the 3.75 for each unused day is added on top of the flown block (your other applicable credits wouldn't apply).

You can find it all here: http://asacontract.com/pa/contractnew/03 - Compensation.pdf

This will be the first month that I haven't cleared over 80 hours of pay on reserve since the new rules went into effect in February. I've only seen or heard of that rule kicking in once, and it was still beneficial to take the total credits (min day, etc) as opposed to the unused day credit.

Clear???

Crystal clear???

Like I said, this will be the first month since February that I haven't cleared 80 hours plus for the month in credits. I'll be way under guarantee this month, even as a "call me first", yet others are way ahead of me as regular reserves and junior to me. A lot of abuse this month of the bucket system and the union knows about it. Hopefully will be fixed next month.

Most I've blocked on the ATR was 27hrs last month. Im at 10hrs this month. Now im thinking its better to fly as little as possible on reserve since you get paid the same unless you go over guarantee. Going to nap reserve, non-call me first next month.

Jet guys are flying/crediting over 75 hrs on reserve?

It can be done if you are LCRS or CMF and you pay attention to the reserve list and make sure they don't bypass you when they should call you instead. I broke it by 8 hours last month, have a shot at it again this month. Come september though....no chance.

It's amazing how many people I fly with who think that as soon as you break 75 hours credit, you automatically get 3.75 hours ontop of your creidt for each day you didn't fly. Lotta people confused on this one.....

But...........Why do we have to keep track of it ourselves?!?!?!? Can't they just freakin do it right? It just disgusts me. When I was on reserve I had to call them out so many times, it drove me nuts.

Why bother having a contract if they dont care to follow it? Watch them if you are a CMF and you are near breaking 75 at the end of the month.....they will pass you over every time, and then claim they are allowed to assign by block time. Not so. If you are trying to make some money, they are stealing from you.

Uhh, read your contract. They are allowed to do that, assuming by bypassing you they didn't bring somebody else over guarantee.

Um, I have..........and made calls to clarify to PD at ALPA. The lowest credit applies to only 'NP'. CMF is to be assigned only by seniority!!! That is where the problem I described lies. The schedulers and pilots alike do not understand how it is supposed to work!
Since you want to quote my lack of contract knowledge, read below:

b. Assignments to reserve pilots will be made in the following
order:
(1) The Company may skip steps in paragraphs O.6.b.
below, if, at the time of the assignment, duty-in for
the trip is scheduled in less than twelve (12) hours.

(2) Long-call/CMF in seniority order within the bucket
that contains the same number of reserve days
available as the days of the assignment.

(3) Long-call/CMF in seniority order in the bucket that contains one (1) more day of reserve availability than the assignment requires. The Company may also
give an assignment to a long-call/CMF pilot in
seniority order in a bucket that contains more than
one (1) additional day of reserve availability.

(4) Long-call/NP in order of line credit value, lowest credit hours first, in the bucket that contains the
same number of reserve days in the assignment.

A little short sighted, as always! If you were to go just a couple more paragraphs:

d. Notwithstanding paragraph O.6.b., above, if the scheduled value of an assignment would take a reserve pilot above his minimum monthly guarantee, the Company may bypass that reserve pilot.

The uncalled for personal shot aside, it was explained to me by our hard-working union reps that it was to be done in seniority order for CMF's. In combing over that clause, it seems to me that the whole section is utterly useless. Why even have the language if they allow one little loophole void the whole thing?
And, once again, seniority means nothing at ASA.

Calm down. Look at it from the company's perspective. They have 150 reserves, all making 75 hour guarantee. Why should they have to pay somebody to go over guarantee when they have a hundred other pilots that could do the trip and not cost them additional money?

After all you upgraded knowing you would be on reserve, and reserves get the shaft as far as pay is concerned. This isn't an ASA thing, it's an all airline thing. You're not entitled to 100 hours of pay just because you're the most senior of the junior.

That being said, scheduling has the option of bypassing you. That doesn't mean they have to nor do they do it all the time. Sometimes their failure to follow the contract works both directions.

I was wondering if anyone knows how to trade a reserve day.
Thanks

It's done on FLICA under future open time. It's a lot easier to look at the tutorial on FLICA than for me to explain it. If you still can't do it let me know and I'll try to explain. Good luck if you're trying to get a weekend off, they always seem to be restricted.

Thanks, not trying to get a weekend off, but they gave me the 3rd 5th and 6th off, with a reserve day on the 4th. Doesn't make sense, trying to just move it is all.
Thanks

Follow these directions closely young grasshopper and you'll be trading reserve days in no time. However, if I start getting denied because senior people are getting my days off I will be looking for you ;-)
