PLEASE HELP!!!
Anyone knows how long after a phone interview does ASA call for an interview? Or do they even call at all after that?
I had the phone screening/interview and received a package (new application, authorization for background check, NDR, drug test, and refrence check) and mailed it back to ASA about 2 weeks ago and I haven't heard anything from them..

I REALLY REALLY appreciate any help or feed back..
and thanks in advance to ALL.

Just curious how long after you did the phone interview did you recieve the info packet???

Thanks

I walked my application (got it 3 days after phone interview) back in and was called about an hour later.

How did you get the call with your flight time?

I sent my packet of stuff in about a month ago and have not received a call for an interview yet. My guess is that they are not interviewing right now until they hear something from delta's debacle. I heard a rumor that asa might be looking at the embraer 190's also. If any of you get a call for an interview let us know.

Your rumor about the E190s is wrong. The E190 falls within the scope of Delta mainline pilots. ASA cannot operate anything larger than a CRJ-700 - and they have a limit on the number that they can operate. If DAL (including ASA and Comair) orders E190s, the mainline pilots will be flying them - including the many furloughees who are still on the street waiting to get back in the air...

I recieved my packet 3-4 days after the phone call and then they called me the day that they recieved my packet. This was in July.

I don't believe the rumor about the 190 either. That said the scope within the PWA to prevent it will be worth the paper its written on should D go into bankruptcy protection.

embraer has been all over the asa g.o. the last couple of weeks from what I hear. Maybe they are going to get them if delta goes down?

Try calling the point of contact on the letter from your package and ask. A month after my call i was interviewing. A month later, i started. Call the POC.

Doesn't Delta own ASA? If DAL goes down won't ASA also suffer the consequences? Would the DAL mainline pilots allow that scenario - do you really think they would allow that if they have been protecting that right for years and years and years? And what will the 800+ Delta furloughees fly?

delta owns asa but asa is not affected by a delta bankruptcy. If delta indeed files for it, asa and comair will become busier and bigger than mainline delta.

Yeah, ok.

And this is the statement from someone who got a law degree out of a cracker jack box!

DAL mainline pilots allow. I think a bankruptcy judge may have something to say about that. Bankruptcy judges tend not to care too much about what the pilots want to happen. They're more interested in getting the creditors as much of their money as possible.

I got my packet a few days after the phone interview...and sent it in after tubing the sim ride at Eagle...that was 2 weeks ago...I called the contact on my letter..and he confirmed that they had recieved my packet but offered no other information.

Good god, it's amazing how a simple thread about interviewing can be used by idiots. To the original question, sorry, I have no idea. Back when I was hired it was run a little differently. To anyone else who works here and thinks that a Delta bankruptcy would be good for us, step away from the crack pipe. We have no idea how we could be affected. As far as the E-190, keep in mind that there is still a scope clause in effect, and that airplane simply is not ours. So, try to keep your head in reality, it's going to be strange enough with DFW closing.
