Seems like if we were gonna do a CVG base we would have done it a year ago. Does Mesa have any CVG stuff or is it all Comair and chataqua? Seems like MCO might be more realistic at the moment, but who knows. Seems like a few more bases would help our performance numbers too.

There is a ton of new flying out of the CVG up to at least September. We'll have many more planes in CVG than in MCO. If the union approves, CVG could even be a dual-qual base. But, of course, I'll believe it when I see it.

SH said that last week in RGT. I think he said we have 44 flights a day and thats around the magic number to open a base. He also said we were waiting on big D to see if those numbers will continue. He also stated we're not getting LA'd again.

Waiting for the MCO Base

I fail to see how CVG and DTW are going to coexist in a merged DAL/NWA world.

NOT! Not with a month to month contract with DAL on MCO flying.

No one thought that Delta was going to close DFW, no reason to think that CVG might fall by the way side if a merger goes through. However, Delta promises in its new contract to not close any base for 24 months. Once the merger is complete, the clock starts ticking. ASA could be there for ywo years. Delta's network is CVG is more likely to outlast MCO, but with a merger, the opposite might be true.

Waiting for the MCO Base

I was in RGT last week and SH did not say we were opening any new bases. Its a possibility, but not a reality at this point.

Only one person in this thread has claimed to know someone who heard SH say we were opening a CVG base...

This thread is fluff. Believe it when you see it.
