So I arrive in BGR for the overnight and meet up with the next crew in the jetbridge. I see red bumps ALL OVER the FO's arms so I ask him if he is feeling alright. He tells me it is from the hotel. Then he proceeds to take his shirt off right in the jetbridge and I could not believe my eyes!!!!!! He was covered 100% in HUGE RED BUMPS from his back to his chest. Completely covered. It was disgusting!
So I ask him "What the F**K are you doing here?" Why did you not call in sick and get the flight cancelled. Of coarse he has no answer.
Once again this exposes fact that there are not enough pilots around ASA that actually have BALLS! What more do you need to finally drive it home to SH that these hotels (especially BGR, and I'm talking about the new hotel) are a HEALTH HAZARD! Sack up, get some balls and call in sick and get that flight cancelled. And there is no way you can get into any kind of trouble for getting that flight cancelled either. All you need to do is see one picture of what that person looked like. But noone does anything about it. So ASA saves $20 a night on rooms at a sub-par hotel, then someone gets sick...now they pay $100's in medical bills. Just doesn't make sense to me.
Pictures were taken and will be forwarded to ALPA and SH.
We will see what comes of this.
