When did the company announce that starting now, FO's must take Bi-annual check rides? This would be usefull to know, before it shows up in a bid packet. Once again, quality communications at ASA.

Does any other company have FO's do check rides every 6 mos. like PIC's? This just seems odd........

I had heard rumors of this...but saw the listing of FOs who are the first ones to go next month in the bid packet.

Suprise!!!!!!! Better dig out those old flash cards and dust them off a bit early this year.

It does not state all FO's are being changed, just the ones on the list....what up?

I think they are somehow starting this up next month, and have probably decided to start with the guys who had recurrent 6 months ago or so. That's my guess.

Last post is correct. I called to check with the training dept. today, and they said this new deal starts in April, so everyone due in Nov will go. Those due in Dec get a free trip to the Red Roof in May, etc... Nice of them to let us know, huh?

I also heard that this was coming in my Jan. recurrent class.

The story was that this was always something they wanted to do in the training dept. but they were too busy to get it going.I guess that is not the case any longer.

If it holds true that you get a LOFT then I would not sweat it, I kinda like the idea as an FO to have more training events, this way you actually retain the important things that you never do in real life line flying, better and longer.

Regardless of our misrable pay, we are supposed to be on top of our game at all times.

It's to retrain them on how to stock the load manifests, fuel slips and time sheets when they use the last one.

Too bad most of us could probably outfly your arrogant a$$ any day of the week!

They told us this was coming in recurrent. It makes sense to do this. One PC per year is not enoght to stay proficient is stalls and steep turns and such.

It looked like most of the FO 's in Aprils are getting LOFTS. Nice to get the short notice though.

Oh, and stock your own **CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED****CENSORED** forms maggot!

Welcome to the party pal !!:D Seriously, I had a PC as an FO after 1 year and it was not fun. When I was in upgrade class I ran into a newhire classmate who was removed from the line for tanking the oral portion of a PC. Not making excuses for him but I'm sure the old complacency monster struck.

This my month to kickback. My 6 month due month is June so it's back into the books April.

I think the LOFT is going away and being replaced with RFT- a non-threating mock checkride. That's what I had last and it was fun to practice stalls, steep turns, etc.

I know we all know this but here goes:

You must have down:
l
limitations
immediate action items
oral guide/systems
profiles
good attitude

All the best -
