Ok, what's the deal with these things. I have filled out about 18 of these things in the past 20 months. I talked to a buddy of mine who is an F/O and he says he has them filled out on him almost every month. Is there a point to this? Does anyone use these for anything, or do they just get stuffed away in the same black hole with all the revision notification sheets we sign? I'm getting a little tired of them, and I'm SURE the F/Os are as well. Anyone?

I used to get them all the time but I think they may have stopped when they figured out that I tend to forget to give them to the Captain. I don't know how much value they are considering I fly with 5-10 Captains a month for (at most) a day or two each. Even I can pull it together for that long. One of the CPs told me they were looking for one a month for each FO but that a nap or 2 day wasn't really enough to evaluate someone. Kind of gets me off the hook.

They may serve a purpose, but if they need to be done, why not give them to the Captain? On the other hand, when they leave them for me I have some control over who fills them out. Pain in the @ss either way.

when i get a job with asa i won't really be concerned about these evuations.
What are there minimuns? do they favour interns?

The evals are supposed to be for 1/4 yearly interviews. They do happen in Dallas, probably not in ATL. The chief pilots use them as a reference for what capts. have said about you. You only need to do them for the first year while you are on probation. If you have been doing them for 20 months you need to stop!

It was my understanding that they are happening every month in ATL. Every pilot online right now is off of probation, so I don't know what the deal is as far as them being only for probationary pilots.

Maybe they will be used when it is upgrade time????

jimbo? i don't know a jimbo.
asa is my prefered airline to start with. I know people in management there so it shouldn't be too difficult to get a job there. I know my flight time isn't much but i have more experience than most people think.

First of all, slappy, three years ago the VP of Flight Ops' nephew applied and interviewed at ASA. Guess what. He didn't get hired because he botched the interview. Knowing someone at ASA does not get you the job. It may get you a slight advantage, but it does not get you the job.

Second of all, your attitude is nothing short of offensive to me and probably to all of my co-workers.

Finally, just because you're Embry-Riddle's top gun instructor (or whatever it is that makes you think you're the best thing going), don't expect me to be impressed. I have flown with FOs right out of Riddle and other places. For the most part, I think they do a good job. However, the day is gone (at least for the forseeable future) where you can expect to be snapped up by ASA or a comparable regional right out of school just because you can nail an ILS in the sim or explain Vmc to an interviewer.

People like you really do amaze me. As I said, I have flown with quite a few low time FOs, and for the most part they do fine. The one trait that they all have in common is understanding their lack of experience and their limitations. You seem to be sorely lacking in that department. An attitude adjustment will serve you well, young man.

TopGun-MAV,

Could you at least spell Warrior correctly in your profile?

And please read up on the people T-Gates mentioned. You're not playing at their level yet...

That guy sounds pretty cocky to me expecting to just walk into ASA probably after graduating from Riddle! Wait a minute.... I did the same thing except I went straight to United!

Congratulations! Enjoy liquidation.

And to TopGun-MAV (you know that movie is probably older than you are)................ What precisely are you the captain of with 335 hours? Or is that just what your mom calls you when you go home for a visit?

sorry if i sounded offensive. i didn't mean it like that.
actually i don't have 335hrs. I have 360 and I fly senecas, kingairs, and getting trained in a beech1900 right now.
My friends call me maverick, but i couldn't use that name becuase someone took it already.
All i was getting at is that if citation man can walk into a united airlines job after riddle i can do the same at a regional.

THANK YOU for the laugh this morning. It was a great way to start my day. You are just too funny!

Thanks again.

It's TAB!!!!! He's back!!!!!!

Welcome back, ole wise one.

I notice that you've acquired your "be1900" rating with 360 hours of total time since we've last heard from you! Make sure you always update your profile so that we know how many hours you have this week. You know that there are tons of recruiters who monitor this site and will PM you with all of the details, right? I'm sure Mitch, Al, and Steve have told you that at least once.

Keep up the good work and attitude, son. It'll get you a great paying job in no time. And don't forget to brush before going to bed.

LTG:rolleyes:

You guys getting all worked up about TOP GUN-Mav are such SUCKERS!!!! This is definately TabExpress FO. This guy has been flame baiting everybody for a long time--and just about everybody bites. It's pretty funny, but getting old.

Topgunmav, the low time know-it-all is getting old--try something new--for my entertainment!
