Rumor floating around DTW is that the company is going to annouce it's closure in Dec. This is do to the loss of the airplanes to GoJet as well as a big drop in block hrs next year. Dec is also more then 6 months after the opening of June 1st there for they won't have to pay for the breaking of leases. Apparently this rumor orginated from the MEC. Thoughts?

I don't see that happening. Where are those RJs suppose to go? DL wants them out of ATL. I do believe that MEM might still be happening with the 200s and DTW for the 700s.

They certainly have been TDY'ing alot of 700 reserves up there for the past few months. It makes me think they don't want to commit to staffing DTW properly because maybe a reduction or closure.

Don't they tdy a lot to IAD? They aren't the geniuses you make them out to be.

They usually TDY alot to IAD during the busy months, it seems. This time of the year is pretty slow. Just a guess. Geniuses is far on the other side of the spectrum from what I consider our management team to be :)

There will be a reduction in flying due to the loss of the 8 CR7s to HoeJet which will start flying out of DTW next year. DTW base was suppose to be 90 crews, after those RJs leave we should be staffed about right and the TDYs will go away...

DFW: RIP; SLC: RIP; LAX: Good Riddance (LAX based on an ATL salary?!); DTW: par for the course. Why couldn't we keep those semi-bases we had in MCO and TPA? Those were sweet!

Sending them all to LGA for our new LGA base. You heard it here first.

Nope. We're busier now than we were in the summer. They TDY between 3 and 6 captains here every single day of every single week since June. They have no idea how to properly staff... That being said we are trying to get 1 additional white painted spare up here and another 6-8 captains so we can be properly staffed for once.

Sounds like you guys are pricing yourselves out of business. Better make sure you take a pay cut in your next contract.

The bottom of the window for IAD CA is 90hrs in Dec and they're tdying most reserves. Don't give them credit for using logic. My suspicion is they're not committing to any of these domiciles.

Since our bread and butter is now United, maybe they'll move the GO to ord.
