Confirmed. Due to the RFP jets, (plus the needs of the new 70s) 20 a month for 18 months. Right now it is 10 people every two weeks startring March 15th. Could possibly change to 1 class of 20 by summer. Thats 360 new guys. A letter from Skip said 400 new, with @ 175 new captain upgrades, but right now only the 360 has been approved.

***All subject to change of course***

Apr 12

The next class scheduled after the March 15th class is 12 Apr. A freind of mine is in that class. The Mar 29 class is a no go. Since we are getting roughly one A/C a month for quite some time, 10 new hires per month seems more the norm. It will be 20 per class with 10 CPT's and 10 new FO's. It also looks like the first couple of classes will go to DFW on the 50 then start moving towards ATL as the 70's roll in there. No clue of where those 25 RFP aircraft will be deployed. I hope it is not to relplace the ATR's. But we wouldn't be hiring 360 if they were.

Of course, that is this week!

Tim,

Your friend received 1+ month of notice for the next class? I thought they gave a 2 to 3 week notice. Does that mean that the April 12 class has been filled already?

Anyone else receive the April 12 class call?

Tim thanks for the info. Your friend that was called this early for the 4/12 class, is he a DL furlough? Just wondering, cause as fishnfly pointed out that's incredible advance notice when the norm is usually 2-3 weeks like my non-furlough friend was. Maybe the DL guys get exta notice, who knows.

ASA needs to update their website. It still says "ASA is not currently interviewing pilot candidates."

I HATE FREIGHT!

Hey Tim or anybody else,

Do you know if ASA contacts you via letter or phone call for the class dates. I know some people that are still floating in the pool and getting hard to be patient!!!

Hey,

They used to call to see if you are going to accept the class then they mail you a letter.

I spoke to the Manager of Ground school training Brian Wilson today, and he said the next two classes will go to DFW on the CRJ 200 as of right now enough bids are in on the 700 that they will not need any new hires on it, that of course can change at the stroke of a pen on bid sheets.

good luck,

Medeco

Anyone needing Crashpad info and confirmed in a class feel free to PM me.

Who can give me a rundown of what training looks like...

I believe it is something like this:

2 weeks indoc
2 weeks systems
1 week ops
then ???

Is there anytime off between training and being assigned reserve. For example, when would be the best time to move to DFW or ATL?

Thanks a bunch Milton!

After ground school, you'll have:

4 CPT's
8 Sims
Checkride
LOFT (4 hour sim)

This should take about 3 weeks, then off to IOE. You'll have several days off after your checkride before IOE. Once you finish IOE, you'll get a few more days off. Training/Scheduling should be able to work with you on moving as you near the end of training.

You could move before you go to training, but you I'd be sure you know where you're going before moving. I'd expect DFW, but you just never know until you get there.

Good Luck!

e120,

so the entire training in ATL will take about 8-9 weeks plus IOE?

That's about right. IOE could be done in DFW or ATL, but usually in ATL. All these timelines are just estimates, but since there isn't a ton of training going on right now, I'd expect to move through pretty quick.

Thanks for the info e120,

hope to see you soon!

Well Yes!

This is just coincidence. The only reason that this happened is that he was approached for a 29 Mar class. Rumor is that they were trying to get a 29Mar class going. Guess it didn't happen. He made some calls to RL (because of upgrade selection at his current employment) and was told that the next class woud be 12 Apr. JE is the one that sets the class schedules and will be out of town untill next week.
