So we go through a round of contract talks and nothing happens. Shortly after that is the fourth of July... I decide to take a week off. I then discover that some pilots worked that week.

My question: Really you can't figure this out?

Let me throw this out there. We do another round of contract talks and nothing happens. I think I'll take the week of Thanksgiving off.

Maybe another round of talks and I might be forced to take Christmas off.

I'm not organizing a work action I just thought it was common sense. We all know the pressure points. Why do we refuse to squeeze.

Then it hits me. The Union has nothing to gain in this contract. The company has nothing to gain in this contract. SKYW already has a better deal than us. Anyone with half a brain has jumped ship.

Then I get the memo. Something about people walking in circles in Ft. Walton. That crew should be ban from the airlines for stupidity!

We are East Berlin or modern Iraq. Anyone with half a brain has left. We are left with the die hards and people too dumb to see the problem.

Me I need some PIC Turbine and I'm out. So if you senior guys could figure this situation out I would appreciate it.

First off, if you got that much sick time to be calling in sick for at least 3 weeks out of a year, you should be senior enough to have all the PIC turbine time you need, and in turn, you should be out of the "situation" yourself. But I guess the majors won't just hire anyone. Secondly, it's that type of "me-first" mentality (I need some PIC turbine and I'm out) that personifies the ASA union. Of course they don't have anything to gain when their pilot group is not willing to unite and address about the situation. I'm pretty sure most unionized workers would be a little more peeved after 5 years that the ASA group is, and it's because pilots like yourself with a short yoke are only caring about "me." Don't get me wrong, I love me some me, and I'm not interested in making a career out of the regionals nor am I happy with the way the contract talks are going, but you have to support your own and look out for one another. Let me guess, you're voting yes on the first TA, even if it includes a wad of poop in your mailbox ever month. OUT!

In brians weekly update he mentions that "aircraft reliability" was a major factor in our poor performance numbers this week. Does that mean what I think it means?

No it doesn't mean the pilots are finally writing stuff up. It means they can't find mechanics who want to come to work here either.

Right now coming to work at ASA is akin to a licensed plumber getting a job at roto-rooter. It's at or near the bottom of the industry totom pole.

I've used about 180hrs in sick time over the past two years, I now have zero so I've done my job and it worked greatly right........

Don't get me wrong, I love me some me...

I don't know what the rest of that was about, but this part bears repeating. Guess that's what the little bottle of lotion in the hotel room is for.

I'm not pickin' on you, man; I just dig the way you turn a phrase.

Me thinks it's both. Heard in the crew lounge that one mech told a pilot he'd help them. Mechs are PO'd off too.

Looks like the Airtran and ASA pilots will be fighting for room on the lake the first weekend in Sept. rather than on the ramp.....

Delta North looked like a used car lot of airplanes with reliability problems.

On my 4 day trip we had all kinds or problems that required writing up.

Reliability

Here is a reliability problem for you.... It's called my pen!

There are far too many people sitting around being lazy! My pen and I do no more favors!

If I see a DML with the wrong number-MX comes out! If I can't read a signoff, MX comes out. If I can't find a placard where it is supposed to be or read the damn thing, MX comes out!

I am only one a-hole, we need many more, but a terrible a-hole I am. I do no more favors of any sort for this place..... They want games, my pen and I have games!

-Get Some!

Add me to the new list of Aholes.. I have had no less than 1-2 maintenance write-ups per day, each causing a delay. If it's not maintenance, it's something else. Yesterday, no one took the trash off the airplane. So I waited until departure time to tell ops even though passengers were on board. Ops replied back with a very disgusted voice. NO FAVORS!! I also wait until departure time to call for fuel if it's not done..

My ATL ontime departures are well below 50% on my last 4 day!!! Now mutilply this by the 700 Captains and this whole place falls apart..

Give the pilots/FA's a fair contract, and I just might lift my helping hand. Making 30-40 million a quarter in proftit will not justify the inhumane treatment of our workforce.

ASA pilots have been more than fair for years now. The pilots have really been walked on for some time. Time to give a little back!

ALPA can't do anything for you.

BTW, stop using cell phones and taxi back to the gate at the out stations.

ATR pilots have an option. Go to Ireland and fly for Aer Arann and make at least $100,000 per year. Aer Arann will validate your license to JAR and obtain a work permit for you. You need 500 in ATR and 1500 as PIC of a multi-CREW airplane. Go for the Guinness!

Hey company man... how about this... Call in sick even if you don't have sick time. Oh wait you can't sacrifice to bring the pain.

How about this upgrade has just recently come down to the three year mark. To go to airtran you need at least 500. I know you haven't applied in a while but it really isn't that hard.

I think you are all about you. You don't want to call in sick. You can't go without pay. You hope the Union will save you.

TA. You really aren't very bright. You will not see a TA until next term at the earliest. The Union can't afford to bring us one and the company won't cave for no reason.

Until then I'm taking all the necessary time off I need. You should do the same.
