Hi,

Anyone out there have any info. on the latest hiring for Arrow Air? I'd like to send them my resume, but can't find the name or contact info. for the folks in charge of hiring there. The website only has a general number for their headquarters. Any contact info for them or info in general would be much appreciated.

I like it too.....better get used to it in MIA, because you will be seeing a lot more of us. Have you noticed that the former UAL Cargo building next to our current building is sporting those nice new colors as well?

Flight Ops is moving into our nice new building at MIA, but you can call the general number, choose the option for the operator, and ask to be connected to the CPO, they should connect you, and you can get a new fax number to send your resume to, if the current fax number has changed with the move. I don't have any very recent info on the current status of interviewing and hiring.

I see ya every day:

Usually we park at W-56, right across from a big A DC-10 green machine.
See green 8s there as well.

Just can't get used to the paint job.....

Who decided on it?
Some CEO's wife with too much gin in her gullet?

I don't know.......but Memphis had to get used to Purple, and Louisville had to get uset to Brown.......now, I know that we are not nearly the size of them, but after a while you will get used to Blue and Green in MIA.:)

We have another new DC-10 coming in soon, I don't know if it is in colors yet. I will be sure to wave from across the Eastern-U, neighbor!

Speaking of Brown, UPS's new paint job looks pretty classy.

Yeah, I am sure everybody on Western U will get used to the Lime Green Machine.

In the dark all cats are grey and what matters of course is that the pay-checks keep rolling in, all the way to 60...

Ya, Mon!

I like the new UPS paint scheme too.

Arrow Air ....bottom barrel non-sked. Mainly LA SA, some military around the world. They were hiring beginning of the year, as the new ownership came in, Infused some money, got the dc10's, changed the colors, and supposedly ready to run it as an airline. Take that as a grain of salt as the place hasn't been run as an airline for ohhhh about 20 years or more. Has been great place for upper management to get some extra shekkels into their pocket. Reserve at the place sucks, unless you live in miami. 10 day block of days off a month. IBT Union. Quality of mtx and such goes up and down, depending on a number of factors, whether they can get enough licensed mechanics that speak english working or not. Chief pilot is from iceland, possibly icelandair?? Forget the last name but you can recognize it from the strangeness of it. DO/VP of ops is Joe Calvet, I believe. New head honcho (Chairman of the Board or something like that) is Willie Cabeza, he brought in the money men to bring out of BK. Money men are a group of Dr's I believe. Cabeza is young for heading company (37 or so I believe) but he came up through the Arrow Family 90-2000, started as a dispatcher and ended as CEO during which Fine bought Arrow.
Anyways, not sure what the plans are, but Arrow seems to go up and down, if you can get the seniority to be furlough protected you should be safe, otherwise expect 2-3 furloughs first couple of years. Otherwise it is the oldest operating Freight Carrier in the US. (at least the certificate is, the legacy of Batchleor)

Green Machine

That green is going to take some getting used to, but I think it's an improvement over the big "A" on the tail!

The new paint job sux.

I liked the "Big A" on the tail.

I also like the Fine Air paint jobs as well.

I much rather see the good ol arrow paint job of yore'

Miss working there but it would have taken 10 yrs to get pic.

Oh those Latin girls.

Cabeza's still a dic and just a front.

Quail still can't help being a dic I'm sure.

At least Calvet is in place of Joe Gleason and u can trust Calvet to always be Calvet.

Also can trust to be furloughed every Jan and Feb but the checks were always good when you weren't on furlough.

Would never have left if they didn't start hiring people off the street right into the upper seats because some of the people above you in seniority they didn't want to upgrade and nobody in the union would fight it.

But whats this about Arrow buying Gemini to get DC-10F's

So I guess this had been one of those on-going rumors.

Kept me from applying to Gemini.

Not that they'd have me anyway.

Why would they not have you?

We fly some trips for Arrow. Very few these days. Thank goodness. Do some stuff for Lan Chile, they are alot better. We only really have one a/c down in MIA at the moment. The rest are flying the FedEx contract, AMC or the Africa contract.

Gemini is a great place to work, with outstanding people to fly with.........

Application e-mailed yesterday. Do know one fellow there, one of the Gomez brothers, but not very well, and a new hire as well but don't think that would help sifting through thousands of resumes. Always helps to set sights low and be pleasantly surprised if something comes through. Enjoy nights instead of days and overseas more than states.
