For those of you who would like to consider crossing over to the Air Force, there is a very large window of opportunity open right now.

Because of a recurring shortage in the Pavehawk, the USAF is opening its doors to both Warrants (with a degree) and Comm O's from the Army to transfer over into HH-60 positions on active duty. Obviously, someone with UH-60 IP experience would be optimum but they will consider all airframe backgrounds and experience levels. If you had a desire to come over, now is the chance.

If you are interested in the program, the helicopter assignments guy is Maj. B. Dow at the Air Force Personnel Center. The number is: COMM: 210-565-8723
DSN: 665-8723

Once in the Air Force flying the HH-60, you can aspire to a career in CSAR or possibly branch over to other airframes (CV-22, T-6, TH-1H).

Good luck,

Predators are not a possibility right now. You have a better chance of getting a U-2 than going UAVs.

Any rumors out there on letting back in separated guys from certain year groups (ie...bringing prior-active duty guys back?)

If you are referring to pilot, then yes. But it is limited: only certain MWS' are being allowed to take return-to-active-duty pilots. Call DSN 665-3708 (comm 210 565-3708): this is the office that handles this.
