Arizona Express questions

anybody have any recent info on AZ Express? Hiring? Competitve time? Upgrade time? Lifestyle? Do they really hire into the left seat if you are 1900 typed?

I had a friend give them a call a few weeks ago. They are not currently hiring, but that could change shortly. They added a seond 1900D and are trying to get some EAS routes.

When they hire, they do hire into the left seat.

AZ Express

I believe their parent company is AEX in Arizona and is partnered with Air Desert Pacific (flight school) in California. AEX contracts with banks around Arizona to fly checks to/from Phoenix. AEX has a reputation of flyng junk into conditions they shouldn't be going. I think they also have been under the watchful eye of he FAA after they were caught operating beyond the scope of their certificate.

Yes, they are the ones at terminal two at Sky Harbor with the AZ flag paint scheme. Come to think of it I've never seen it move either.

If you really want to fly 1900s out west look into Great Lakes Airlines. They have a big hub in Denver an actually share a ticket counter with AZ Express. You would get better flight time flying from PHX to Page, AZ to Denver anyway and still have Part 121 Flight Crew jumpseat privledges.

I see the AZ Express 1900 flying in and out of PHX every once in a while. Last I heard, they fly from PHX to Show Low, AZ. They might go somewhere else, but I"m not sure.

As previously mentioned, they aren't hiring. I had a friend who was hired earlier this year and was in the hiring pool for about 6 months before getting on with a different company. I think the pay is low, but again, I'm not 100% sure.

Arizona Express

I work in Gallup and know a little about Arizona Express. A girl who flies into gallup her boyfriend is a FO for them and she talks about it alot.

As of right now they are flying into Show Low and that is it. They are trying to expand and do some flying out of Salt Lake I think. They are hiring right now. I believe they are hiring for just FO right now. They do hire direct into the left seat. Also it is my understanding that there is NO upgrade to captian they hire captians off the streat.

For what it's worth...

Supposedly they are going to begin flying from PHX to FHU in Sierra Vista, AZ. That has been about to happen for a while but as far as I know hasn't happened yet and maybe it will happen, maybe it won't.

I've jumpseated with them a couple times, even though our regional has no reciprical agreement with Arizona Express.
