What are typical ARG/US-Wyvern captain and f.o. minimums these days? Does it change with the rating, i.e. Gold or Platinum? Anyone have any info on this stuff? Seems a number of corporate flight departments make these numbers some of their hard mins.

ARGUS and Wyvern are more for charter. Here is your typical charter mins:

8000TT, even though we typically fly 300/yr.

2000 time on type, has to be the exact type we operate. No counting your 35 experience towards our 31a or your 601 experience to our 604.

Fresh recurrent, as in you should walk directly from the sim to our indoc. Oh, also we will want to to sign a contract even though you are current.

Extensive international experience, so you ready for the one trip to Europe each year that requires three stops and should really been done by chartering a G5 instead of taking the twenty year old Hawker.

College degree. Until the FMS starts asking pre-1917 Russian history trivia before allowing me to go direct WHITE I'm not sure my education is going to help me fly you from Teterboro to West Palm twice a week.

Don't forget you must live within 30 minutes of one of the most expensive cities in the US and we will lowball your pay just because we still think it's 2001. You days off will be when we can't book a trip. Your vacation takes place when the aircraft is in mx.

Platinum certification means we haven't wrecked anything in a couple years. Gold means the Falcon 900 went off the end for the 3rd time last winter.

Bonus if the 401k consist of company stock.

Wiggums...you pretty much summed it up! LMAO!

Amusing, if not a little discouraging. But seriously though, what are these mins all about and is that what most of these corporate/charter gigs base their hiring mins on?

Ill second what wiggums said.. as far as mins are it depends on who you know, anything else is just irrelevant details.

Pic Sic?

  • A pilot may not log “PIC time in type” unless they are actually type rated as “PIC” in that aircraft. Total jet time or SIC time may NOT be included in that “PIC time in type” number. PIC time in type should only be that time when the pilot is the sole commander and decision maker responsible for the safety of the aircraft.
  • ARG/US standard minimums require the Captain to have at least an ATP license, 3000 hours total time, 1500 hours total PIC time, and 250 hours PIC time in type. Specific subscriber minimums may be higher.
above is from Argus...

So if a type-rated FO logs 250 hours of 'sole-manipulator' of the flight controls, will that meet the argus standard minimums for Captain, assuming the others are already met????

If not, how would ANY 135 FO ever be able to make captain????

Typically not every trip is flown under the ARGUS standard. A new captain can fly owner trips and for charter customers that do not require ARGUS until they get 250 PIC in type.

That might be the best post ever. I especially loved the deadpan approach. Priceless!
