The KCMI VOR or GPS RWY 4 has a small x (AZNOR) on the Final Approach Course and im trying to figure out what it's there for.

I know there is not a Final Approach Fix on this approach and once you complete the procedure turn and established inbound toward the airport on the Final Approach Course within the distance prescribed in the procedure you can continue your descent to MDA.

I believe it is a "Sensor FAF". It is a final approach waypoint created and added to the database sequence of waypoints to support GPS navigation of a published, no FAF, non-precision approach.

In a nutshell, it is a waypoint in the GPS database, if there is one on your aircraft, overlying the VOR approach. You can fly the approach either as a GPS, OR as a VOR approach.

Agree with ONTFO, that's my best guess also.
CGF= computer generated fix for the benefit of waypoint sequencing.
On Jepp plates should be indicated as "FF04" or final fix 04.
Have never seen it as the "x"

You are correct sir! It is technically a CNF, computer navigational fix.
