I have about 1400 hours with 600 multi and 500 king air time. CFII and MEI. Will I get an interview with this amount of time? How long does the entire process take from the day I fill out the online app.? I know the hiring is pretty good right now. I would like to apply to an airline where I could be based in the cleveland area eventually.

You have more time than the average person being interviewed. Get your stuff in ASAP. It would have been advantageous to put you stuff in 4 months ago when the hiring craze began. Things are tailing off a little bit right now so get it in.

If you're looking for a pilot base near Cleveland, please note that as of October 1st CAK will no longer be a PSA domicile. But we do still have DAY or PIT, which are a few hours' drive.

Also, if you're planning on interviewing with Expressjet, make sure you don't claim any right seat King Air time. I hear they send a lot of people home early for logging right seat turboprop time if it doesn't require two pilots. If you logged it as PIC, know the airplane inside and out....as you should if you were acting as a PIC.

expressjet in cleveland

Pretty sure expressjet is still hiring. I just passed my pc there this past week and thought the training department and company as a whole were top of the line. Very structured program that is very affective. If you get hired at express you would more than likely get Cleveland if thats what you wanted. All my class got Newark except the people that wanted Cleveland got it. The bad thing about Cleveland is that there isn't much movement, but if you just wanted to make sure you live in your base then Expressjet would work out for you. Anyway good luck and so you know, your times were more that most new hires down there so get you resume in. I did the online thing, called the hotline deal and then got a call two weeks later for a phase 3 interview a few days later. Phase 4 was a week after that and my class date was 2 weeks after that. Things moved pretty fast. 6 weeks later and my training is done and it's off to IOE. they should be running 2 or 3 classes a month through the rest of the year. They are losing alot of captains that are going back to Continental, around 250 or so the training department is pretty busy with new hires and captain upgrades.

Meiguy.

how do you apply for XJT?

Is online the only option? Is there a way you can send a resume by mail?

Don't know, but it's the best way. It takes a short amount of time and the quickest response time.

I can all but guarantee you will get an interview with XJT with those times. And yes, the only way to apply initially is online.

And once you're hired I can all but guarantee that you will be CLE based as well.

Hey MEI,

Not many being put at IAH huh? I always thought that would be the easiest to get having the most growth....guess not.
