I can not make this ******************** up. Read here:

If you work 40 hours a week at 50 per hour and that's 2000 hours per year you earn [dr. evil voice] $100,000!![/dev] OMG reporters can just say whatever the hell they want can't they with no consequence. Freedom of the press? Or trying to sucker in a new generation who will never realise what they've always been told would be their return on investment for being a commercial pilot?

I tried finding an address to email them about their total misinformation but couldn't find one. Anyone else have any idea? While ignorance will always exit not being able to try and correct it where found is frustrating.

"The median expected hourly pay for a typical Captain/Pilot in Command (Large Jet) in the United States is $50.91"

Do you think they just took the average captain salary, and compared it to a 40 hour work-week?

Yep which is BS since we are limited to 1000 hours block per year not even coming close to 2000 hours like the article says. They don't outright say we earn 100K but it leads you to beieve it and the general public will just take it at face value and think we're all rich, Rich, RICH!!

I have absolutely no problem with this if it makes people think I'm rich and helps me get laid. You know they're not giving it up to my broke ass otherwise.

Job Description: Ensures that trip of assigned flight (aircraft larger than 12,500 pounds at takeoff) is conducted in the safest manner possible. Determines flight routes, speed and takeoff and landing times to fulfill scheduling requirements.

The job description is spot on as well as their math. I feel a disturbance in the force ... poor souls are being sucked over to the dark side.

Anyone else find it funny that their photo is of a Jetstream cockpit? Talk about irony.

I found their feedback link and blasted them pretty good for their misinformation. I included such things as the typical 75 hour/ MONTH thing and being gone for days at a time while per diem covers only a portion of your food bill, etc. etc. I also included it was advertisements like theirs that make the general public think we are overpaid and shouldnt be striking to make our lives a little better.
