Just currious if anyone lives in Iowa. Not to many places to work around there but i was wondering if any of the home based guys or ones that commute live there. I visit about 30 minutes west of Dubuque quite often and was realistically thinking of living there if i could find a job flying. Thanks

DBQ has some corporate activity. Actually, for it's size, it's not bad. There's a citation shared by a bank and a couple of other companies and I think Flexsteel has a plane there.

I lived there for 6 months--6 VERY long months when flying for a now defunct commuter. Unless you're from there, it's tough. The people are real friendly but it's a wierd place.

Having said that, there are a whole lot worse places to live. John Deere is looking down in MLI from what I heard, too. Good luck.TC

Where did you live TC? Iowa is a very different place. Its almost like takin a step back in time somewhat. Its in the middle of nowhere, with no city traffic, tolls, this is just a couple of reasons why i want to live there. I dont think ill be able to do it though. Its like living in Montana and flying for AA.

Just bid the B777 Narita runs twice a month and it should be no problem.

I lived in DSM for about 4 years, and one of the first things that someone told me was IOWA = Idiots Out Wandering Around...:) It's relaly not that bad a place to live, but you have to like cold weather and snow.

HAHA....I think everyone knows what Iowa stands for. I havent lived there in a LONG time. I was just wondering if anyone lives there to see how the commute is through CID or DBQ. It would be nice to farm alittle on the side since my dad is about to retire and move back close to all my family.
