Cargo/Pax ops, most of it is ad hoc stuff, with a few scheduled runs in the pax side of things. They have 3 DC-8's for cargo, again that is all on demand stuff too. Used to be heavy into auto parts, but it seems they are beginning to diversify their customer base. It was a fun place to work with a lot of good people.

Heard they were hiring for SAAb 340 FOs as they planned on getting an additional aircraft in January. Anyone know if this is true?

Word is Murray Aviation is getting another Saab, but as always, believe it when you see it.

Murray, they fly these little sqare planes, casa 212, u got to be there 20 mites after your pager goes off, and fly ofr 14 hours.

Oh and the pay stinks, least it did in 2000.

Murray is just about out of the "skypig" business, all but one the CASA's are gone. Great airplane for building time, we have hired a bucnh of "skypig" drivers, they have all done well. Great plane to start building your career.

A good place.

I can personally testify that Murray Air/Aviation is (at least it was when I left less than 2 years ago) a good place to work.
Great people and a friendly atmosphere. You will get to know just about everyone there on a first name basis, and when you tell the maintenance that something needs to be looked at they will listen and try to take care of the problem. Pay is average, and if you reside around the YIP +1hr it might be a good move for you....

If invited, definitely go and talk to them. You just like what you see.

:)......

I'll never forget a time I was droppin a load in DET and a Murray Casa was there loading. This was about 7 years ago.

The pilot was this Cartman looking lady with a bun.

She forgot to install the tail stand and the a/c ended up on its ass. I kind of felt bad considering it was the dead of the winter in Detroit city.
