I interviewed with ASA recently. I made it through the sim and on to the interview portion the next day. I felt like I did pretty good on the written (I think I missed 1 or maybe 2).

The interview itself was pretty easy....however, he did stump me on a couple of questions. The interviewer was very straight faced and offered no feedback.

Just wanting to talk with some others about their experience? Did you nail everything perfectly? How long did it take to get a response? Those type things....

ASA Interview

Yeah I interviewed in August. About the same as what you had. I wouldn't worry about the written at all, I'm told that it is not weighed heavily and is written by interns. As far as the oral, I nailed everything except the questions about what V1 guarantees. I knew what V1, V2, Vr all were just not what they provide as far as altitudes on departure.

My interviewer was a little more relaxed, he let me know if I was right or helped talk me through an answer that wasn't complete.

No Delay,

I interviewed in August and received a call approx. 3 weeks later for a class date. Didn't receive my letter until 2 days after the call saying I was employed conditionally depending on my background checks etc. I believe you are supposed to receive the letter within 2-3 weeks. The letter was late due to the fact that I moved from Ft. Myers, FL and it was forwarded late due to Hurricane Charley. The P.O. in Ft. Myers is historically slow anyways.

As far as the interview, mine was like Palmetto, the interviewer was relaxed and it was a pleasant experience.

I wouldn't worry too much about being stumped on questions, I think everyone gets stumped now and then. I feel they looked at everything, sim, personality, written, would they like to fly with you for a month.....things like that.

Be patient and Best of Luck!!!

thanks for the response. Congratulations.

My interviewer was really nice. I just couldn't get a read on him. He would ask a question and then you could see it in his eyes that he really wasn't listening - more like he was trying to remember what to ask next.

I guess I am just anxious. Got my fingers crossed.
The two questions I messed up were...how often do TAFs come out. I told him I couldn't quiet remember but I thought it was every 4 hours (actually it was 4 times a day). Maybe he will give me half credit :)

The other about V1 cuts. I knew what V1 was, and I knew that weight would change your V1 speed. He said there is also one more thing that affects it...I didn't know. (Temperture).

Have you guys heard if the October class is full? I hear different things...sometimes I hear they are having a hard time filling slots and then I hear they are turning folks away left and right.

no delay,

we must had had the same interviewer because mine was the same way. asked the question but seemed almost disinterested in the response. no facial expression whatsoever. he was a nice guy just very hard to read. i left not feeling very sure becasue of that but i got my letter 2.5 weeks later and the call for class a week after that. good luck to you.

as far as how full the oct class is i couldn't tell you. haven't heard anything about its size.
