Has anyone flown to Bermuda below FL290 because their aircraft wasn't RVSM certified? Can you talk with NYC Control on VHF all the way or do you have to use HF? Where should we stay while we're there as well. Thank you for any info.

Plenty of A/C fly to Bermuda @ FL280 and below. There are flights out of EWR that fly to TXKF as low as 12,000... !!!

Where would you be flying out of ??? I can get you the pref to file if need be. NY Center Oceanic controls all the oceanic out in the Atlantic... Once you leave radar coverage and enter non-radar airspace you will have to talk to the center on HF via ArInc.

DO NOT try to make the flight without HF radio... A/C that try and do that are always reported.

Good luck and if you need any more info let me know.
