I'm going to be there Wednsday and Thursday of next week and I'd like to look up my former CO. Last I heard he was with the Marine Prowler squadron out there. I looked on the Whidbey homepage for squadron info or just general base info but half their pages are under construction. If anyone knows this base at all a little info would be greatly appreciated. I'd just like to know where the Prowler RAG is located at. I think that's where he was at.

Thanks

Jafar,
I hope this doesn't come too late but the RAG (VAQ-129)is located at the far west side of the flight-line. At least it was the last time I was there. Give a call first to see if you're old skipper is around. Here's a good number to the squadron, DSN 820-8177. I think this is the number to Student control who will in turn be able to direct you to the front office. Hope this helps. Have fun in Whidbey and be sure to take a coat.

Thanks for the reply. I just got back today. As it turns out my former skipper left several months ago. I ended up going to MATSG-53 to look for him. They new him well. Anyway Whidbey is a nice base, it wasn't to cold at all. That Prowler is a cool airplane:cool: . I think If I get selected for jets Prowler will be my second choice airframe ;) .

Glad you liked Whidbey. If you wind up there you can always head to Seattle or Vancouver in your spare time. The Prowler is a great platform and if you do decide to go that way you'll still end up flying Hornets when the Prowler retires in 2015. Good luck in your endeavors.
