I was just checking out those Quad City Challengers and wow, they look impressive, and AFFORDABLE too, lol.. I was wondering if anybody ever flew one or saw one in person? I would LOVE to go up in one of these things to see how they are. My dream would be to own a light-sport airplane like this one day and keep it in my back yard on a lake I live on, that would be life.

Check out the website if you are unfamiliar with what I am talking about:

P.S. -> Anybody ever land on Puddle Jumper floats? how are they?

Flown twice in one, loads of fun. Just requires a fair amount of rudder usage..

Never been the puddle jumper one

you think they are good aircraft? or build sort of cheapy and not sturdy?

where are most of these things?

I was at Oshkosh a few years ago and they had a separate grass runway set aside just for ultra-lights to do touch & go's. That area drew more people than the static displays. It looked like a blast. If you can make the Oshkosh air show, you'll learn more than you'll ever want to know about them.

I flew/rode in an older model Challenger back in 1996 as a student pilot. There is a grass strip near my folks home where 6-8 ultralights and homebuilts were stored. I thought it was a blast and wouldn't mind having one myself. I think I could probably take off solo from my driveway in one of those things.

Hey ... that's an idea ... the old lady starts ragging about me cutting the grass or washing her car or some such crap ... I just pull the QCC out of the (yet-to-be-built) garage and take off down the street for a couple hours. :D
