Nothing so far.
Hiring hasn't much slowed down but the Training Department is overwhelmed right now with lack of instructors for the sim and check airmen for OE. Also cannot get enough sim slots for everyone. They canceled off the street new-hire classes to train the Dornier pilots to the jets. So right now hiring more is not much of a priority. Just be patient.

Good luck.

Be patient....it took them a couple of weeks to call me. Also, when they finally did, they called on a Saturday. Turns out they were so busy and swamped in the office that HR was actually taking work home with them and calling pilots on the weekend. As long as you don't get a letter from them, be patient and they will call.

Also, because it's taking a bit for them to call people, many (including myself) are having to turn it down because of job offers from other carriers that were made in the interim, so that should open up even more slots.

Best of luck to you! They seem to be a real great group of people there...I just wish they put you up in a hotel during training, as it might have swayed my decision to go with another carrier.

They do pay for your hotel during training, and you're on the payroll from day 1.

Yes Pay and perdiem starts on day one, and PSA does pay for your room (Single occupancy), for all of your training. Also your motel is covered at your new domicile until you recieve your relocation days (4 days specified as relocation).

The only thing i can say is to be patient. I know it is hard but what are the other options? I was scheduled for the July 26th class that got postponed and now i am waiting to hear something from them. I already gave my notice in at my current job and now i am unemployed, watch every episode of jerry springer, and clean the house everyday. Now i know how hard it is to be a stay home mom. I spoke to Ken a couple of weeks ago and he is also waiting for advise from the higher-ups. I am sure he is swamped also. But i am so excited to worker for psa that i think this madness is worth it!

Oh yeah, psa does pay for your hotel room.

Standby is thinking of Pinnacle! For I interviewed with her.

So how's Xjet training going Standby?

Best of Luck!

Clearly I'm participating in the XJT sleep-deprivation study....and as a result I can't even READ a post title...duh. Sorry about that guys...don't go spreading what I say around as I'd hate to be the one who started that nasty rumor!

hey there JRAV8TOR....it's going great. I still feel like a dog watching TV, but occasionally, the channels DO change, ha.

Anyone know if there is a current PSA contract available on the net? I have a friend that is thinking about PSA and I would like to read through their contract.

Thanks

I got the call from my July 29th interview. Looks like they may need folks sooner then they planned. No specific dates just yet.

What aircraft would you guys start on? Are they still training a few people on the 328 or would you go straight to CRJ?

The last few classes have all gotten the CRJ-200. No more new hires to the 328. I believe the 328's will be parked by Sept.

The 328's last day will be September 7th. All new-hires starting class during the next three months can expect to be trained with current Dork pilots making the transition to the CRJ. Classes for all of us have already been scheduled.

Well poop. I still haven't heard anything, nor have I gotten the dreaded letter in the mail. Maybe it takes a few days to call everyone. Who knows??? When are class dates looking to start?

I just wanted to bump this back up top. Has anybody else from this group heard anything yet? Either way? I was hoping if it's no that the letter would have come quicker than this... I've got no fingernails left!!

lrn2fly: have you heard anything about a class date yet?
