Just curious, I havn't seen a working DC-3 it seems in years, are they all in Alaska, and the islands now?

Is Sabre still around?

Nope, their gone as well. I thought some of the smoke jumpers hitched a ride in some DC-3's. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Rhoades Aviation was looking for an FO but not sure now. They have a DC-3T and a CNV640 (both in airworthy condition) although I rarely see either of the aircraft fly. I have a feeling it is one of those be a flight instructor and get the opportunity to ride right seat gigs.

Baja Air...I think out of Gillespie or San Diego operates a DC-3T

Yeah, but they are USFS owned, not contract ships

I just saw a turbine DC-3 flying over Houston the other day. I have no idea whose it was, though.

Rhoades used to have the USFS contract, but lost it. I just talked with one of their pilots, and I guess they are not flying that much anymore! They do have 1 cv640, and dc3-t operating though.

I know the DC-3T runs because they ran up the engines while I ate breakfast at the "hanger" the other day. However, I have yet to see it fly...I heard that they have some DC-3s stored over at Seymour as well as the one over by the Cummins Hanger that is "parted out". Also last fall they were flying the orange CV-640 (as per flightaware) but I haven't really seen it move that much. A friend from North Vernon who flew from there told me they have some South American contracts as well as some Africa work.

There is 4-Star in South Florida/ P.R. They were looking for crews lately.
