Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings Selects Kronos®

Kronos Altitude selected to help worldwide cargo company plan optimal crew pairings

CHELMSFORD, Mass. and MONTREAL, June 5, 2007 — Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: AAWW) has selected the Altitude Pairing™ solution from Kronos® Incorporated (Nasdaq: KRON) to provide crew planning optimization for its subsidiary airlines, Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo. The Altitude Pairing airline crew management solution is designed to make the most efficient use of an airline's crewmember and equipment resources. The result is enhanced operational efficiency for the airline and an improved ability to meet its customers' short-term shipment requests.

"The dynamic, opportunistic nature of our business requires a crew optimization system that can consider a multitude of cost factors, yet still provide fast and efficient solutions," said Richard Rolland, senior director of crew scheduling for Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo. "The Kronos solution meets both of these objectives, as it is geared toward delivering customized solutions for the specific needs of aviation customers."
Determine optimal pairings in the shortest time possible

Kronos' Altitude Pairing solution converts a flight schedule into pairings, or trips. The planned pairings drive maximum efficiency and cost savings into a constantly changing schedule. The solution provides a dynamic and flexible system for building the least costly and most effective crew pairings. As a result, an airline can react to changes and re-optimize schedules with maximum efficiency.

Altitude Pairing also enables an airline to make decisions based on the analysis of "what if" scenarios. For example, with Altitude Pairing, both Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo will be able to evaluate the immediate cost impact of making changes to schedules to accommodate customer requests, and the down-line impact of those changes. Another key feature enables each cargo company to build scenarios using snapshots of data and assessing the situation at hand for better forecasting and in-depth analysis.
Delivering custom solutions for specific needs

Kronos is unique in its development of a custom Altitude Pairing Repair Module, which makes the best use of crewmembers' time, based on the specific needs of its customers' airline and regulatory requirements.
"Kronos' Altitude Pairing solution helps airlines build efficiencies into their business which translates into immediate operational benefits," said Tom Ivaskiv, vice president and general manager of Kronos' Altitude Division. "And our tool chest of solutions allows us to take various elements and create a solution that meets the needs of each airline. We look forward to helping Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo build more efficiency into daily and long-term planning capabilities."

Kronos made this announcement from the Kronos Altitude customer conference, taking place this week in Montreal, Canada, where Atlas Air's Richard Rolland will be a guest presenter.
