Between being home 10 days a month and the constant money problems along with little hope for an upgrade, it's time to get away from my regional.

Home basing is a must. I'm way too deep in the money pit from he!! to be able to move. Also, the wife has a good job and family situation that I wouldn't ask her to leave.

Thanks for the replies!

I'm trying to get a job with citation shares. From what i've read and
what other pilots that work for them have told me is this.
You need to be >2hrs. from any of the following domiciles.

BOS,HPN,EWR,BWI,ATL,MCO,FLL,MIA,ORD,DFW,DEN,LAX,SFO,PHX,CVG,SAT,STL,
BNA,MCI,IAD,IAH,CLE,GSO.

GO TO CITATION SHARES.COM for more info. Good luck. Hey out of curiosity, where do you live?

North Alabama.

Thanks for the info. I flew a 40A.

Hi!

OPECjet:

Do U live near DTW? If so, you'd be home about 20 days/mo. at USA Jet.

If not, USA Jet newhires get 11 days off/month, and you can go to the DC-9 within a year-they get 13 days off/month.

FOs start at $33K base, and the -9 is higher. Off most holidays.

It sounds like we'll need to hire a bunch of pilots soon. If U want more info, PM me.

OPEC, Maybe NJA could still work for you. All you need to do is purchase 1-way airfare twice per month from your home airport to one of the 5 bases. On your last day you can fly to your home airport. If the cost of this ticket is less than what the company would have spent to get you to your base then it is 100% covered. And you can use more than 1 form of transportation (airline to cheap hub, then rental car, etc). If it costs more then you pay the difference.
So lets say you will be flying about 24 tours per year. You know your schedule for the whole year so you can buy all of your airfares for the year and get a good rate. 24x$200=$4800 and lets say you put yourself in a hotel each night before the tour $100x24=$2400. So for $7200/yr you are flying from home. Even the per-diem will more than cover that.
Of course you are now more or less working 7.5 on/ 6.5 off but it will get better. It may be a sacrifice some are willing to make.
NJA will seek relief on this basing sooner or later. In the meantime it is a price to pay to work here.
Base pay this year (5) is $90k, the W2 will be $130k + another $15k in per-diem and extras tax-free. I would give up $7200 if I had to in order to NOT live at one of the 5 bases.

For training events you still fly from home. .

WRONG!!! That was old contract. New contract does not cover travel to training for any one that is domiciled based. So even for training you have to drive to your domicile for your flight.
